FanficRecs Funny, sweet, and involving
Ditzy Doo as a matchmaker seems like an odd idea at first, but I quickly got involved with her various attempts at getting different couples together, at a job she wasn't prepared for, and facing all kinds of obstacles ranging from simple shyness to a generations-long family feud. The author's apparent preference for lesbian couples can be a bit distracting, but it's a very fun series overall.
FanficRecs Ditzy Doo, shipper on deck!
Well-written and enjoyable. The framing device works well and has a plot of its own, although the main antagonist can feel somewhat forced at times, and Ditzy's decision to not tell her daughter about her change of jobs seems irrational and only done to add drama and draw out the scenes a bit more. Still, a satisfying read.
Most chapters deal with Ditzy's latest assignment, and explore various popular 'ships (although you may be disappointed if you favor a rival 'ship). The story avoids sexual and pseudo-sexual content - Ditzy's job mostly concerns getting the pair to meet and get along, and leave it up to them how far they want to take things. The company even have a strict rule not to let things go past a certain point when minors are involved, as shown when Snips and Snails want help to get kisses from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon as part of a bet. Carrot Top's assignment focuses mostly on ending the feud between the Apples and Carrots, while Pinkie Pie's job turns out to be an insane rescue caper.
All in all, it's an enjoyable and at times heartwarming tale of a fan favorite pony trying to deal with an insane job she never dreamed of doing.
