Interesting premise, though would argue that Harry and Hermione in particular are a little out of character (if only to facilitate the plot.) The ending is effectively brutal.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a wonderfully original take on time travel. I recently stumbled upon this little gem and am very thankful I discovered it. It is extremely well-written and the characterizations are spot-on. Time travel has become an overused plot in Harry Potter fanfiction but, here, the author takes the idea and turns it into something unique and chilling. With fics like this one, you have a character going back in time to change certain things about the future, but what would happen if information about the future was given to someone like Severus Snape; a young, proud, active Death Eater very much capable of committing evil acts? Just when you think you know where things are headed, the author spins everything around, smacking you across the face with a horrifying, tragic, and absolutely delicious twist at the end.
