FanficRecs What's It Like
It's a surprisingly good read, doing a variation of the usual "Change every Servant save Saber" by also keeping Archer and Rider in canon.
All the Servants, both canon and non-canon, are still canon to their original works. This is especially apparent in the Master and Servant relationships, where they all still act like they would in their respective canon universes. With the possible exception of Avenger at times, but this is possibly due to also combining his [1] persona as well.
The fic manages to combine elements of both the canon story and author's changes rather seamlessly, keeping some events and actions like they were in canon, but also adding the author's own touches to the story.
At the end of each chapter, the author often writes a Skill Sheet for each Servant, going into detail about their skills, often telling how they got them, and their Noble Phantasms, giving very detailed descriptions and showing that the author's Shown Their Work.
The fic is still ongoing, only five chapters as of the writing of this review. However, it is must for fans of the Fate series to read, as well as anyone wanting to read a variation of the usual "Change every Servant save Saber."
FanficRecs What's It Like
It's a surprising good fanfic. It subverts the usual formula of only having Saber stay the same by also keeping Archer and Rider the same as well.
All the characters, both canon and not, fit how they act in their canon universes rather well. Especially the non-canon Servants reactions and relationships with their Masters.
It's still on-going, only five chapters to be exact as of the writing of this review. However, it's a must for any fan of the Fate series and those looking for some variation of the "change everyone but Saber" story.
Each non-canon Servant also gets a Skill Sheet, going into detail about their abilities and Noble Phantasms, while still keeping in canon with them, listing limits and often going into surprising details about them. It's obvious the author Shown Their Work while writing this.
Combined with a list of links to Youtube in the author's profile to listen to each Servant's theme song as they duke it out, and this story becomes potentially one of the best inspired stories from "Fate: Zero Sense" to come out in a while.
FanficRecs Canon blending

This is especially apparent in the Master and Servant relationships, where they all still act like they would in their respective canon universes. With the possible exception of Avenger at times, but this is possibly due to also combining his Hellsing Abridged persona as well.

Even several of the character's reactions to each other are also in canon. Berserker's reaction to Avenger is very similar to how she would react in canon facing a Kishin due to the similar souls.
Several will even mention how another is similar to someone from their own universe. In addition to the example with Berserker and Avenger, we also have Caster's reactions to Rider, as well as Lancer's reactions to Caster himself.
They will even go so far as to say how certain people from their universes would have loved to meet another Servant. One such example is with Lancer and Saber, with the former telling the later a certain swordsman would have been proud to face her in combat.
These interactions make this fic all the better to read. And it's not even to the sixth chapter yet.
