I've seen quite a few trope pages of questionable notability before, like pages for memes long forgotten, or pages for works of fiction that don't actually exist. Still, they serve a purpose (kind of) and none of them have made me react in the same way as this page. None of them have made me seriously question why the page even exists in the first place.
I found out about Bronyism because I saw links to it appear on Quote pages for a lot of quite big tropes, like 'Reason You Suck Speech', 'Refuge In Vulgarity', and more. Then I looked into this page and found out that it is an epic tale, normally unable to even be summarized by a mere mortal such as myself, but here goes anyway.
Some trolls hijacked a Facebook page. The end.
Apparently it's a 'Kayfabe' (???) story where the trolls and the trolled are all playing some part in a battle of - never mind, that's just stupid. If anything, it just reminds me that at its heart, this story is the least epic thing I've ever seen. Some guys took over a Facebook page. Then a while later it got taken back. Fin.
The fact that there are character pages, moments of awesome, headscratchers, etc, makes me think that maybe I'm in the wrong and everyone else actually thinks Bronyism is the best tropes page on the site, but I'm still not sure. On one page, someone who unironically calls themselves 'Trollvorlord' is praised for their awesome ego and ultra-l33t-hacker skills, even though on the quote pages he heads straight into a shameless 'Internet Tough Guy' speech including 'The internet is not a fucking safe haven, niggers.' Intelligent man, that.
I think I saw somewhere that the trolls themselves were 'helpful' in the creation and completion this page, and I think there's the reason it flourished at all; maybe it's just a self-obsessed shrine created by people who wanted their boring internet activity memorialized in any way they could find. I've never seen the Bronyism saga mentioned anywhere outside of TV Tropes. In conclusion, for all I know this is the greatest page on the site and I'm just late to the party, but personally I would see more point in creating a trope page for the cheese sandwich I ate last night than keeping this one.
