Given that a LOT of the examples have decent justifications for them not using the weapons earlier, should the description be amended to mention Awesome, but Impractical or situational weapons as a possible reason for this trope?
Or is that point that it's stupid that they weren't used, thus making those examples misuse?

Cue Gendo ordering Rei to retrieve the Lance which she then throws up into orbit, instantly obliterating the Angel. It drifted into lunar orbit and was more-or-less forgotten... until the awakening Unit 01 recalled it. It turned out to be the key to Instrumentality, turning Unit 01 into the Tree of Life. When Instrumentality ended, Yui took the Lance with herself into space.
Should this conceivably receive a new name? Most of these examples aren't really superweapons, or even weapons.
