How grounded in reality is this? I know that when an explosion occurs underwater you're pretty much screwed due to liquids resisting compression, so that is out.
...but when the explosion occurs above the surface, would your chances be better than if, say, you were on flat ground and used the "duck and cover" technique? I figure it depends on the manner of explosive, of course.
