Since I recently deleted both the examples for What Happened to the Mouse?, I figure it might be worth talking about why. (I did give edit reasons, but here I can go into more detail and there can be discussion if someone disagrees.)
Firstly, a reminder that What Happened to the Mouse? is the trope where a minor character or plot line disappears without explanation partway through the story and is never resolved.
Therefore, Guy is not an example of the trope, because he's not a minor character, and more importantly because he's in the movie until basically the end, when he departs the story because he's been defeated and his part in the story is over.
The plotline about Annie's disappeared parents is also not minor, and also doesn't disappear without explanation partway through; it's part of the movie until nearly the end, when it's resolved by Annie deciding that she's going to focus on her future with Will and Grace instead of living in the past.
Does anybody know how to create a Crowning Moment Of Awesome for Annie2014?

Am I the only one who thinks it less realistic for a ten-year-old to have never learned to read in 2014 than in 1933? Are we supposed to let that go because this Annie being black supposedly makes things much worse? The racial achievement gap wasn't that bad in 2014, certainly not compared to how things were in the thirties.
