I want to add King Triton from \'\'Disney/TheLittleMermaid\'\' as a example for GoodParents but I do think he\'s very controversial TV parent, so I\'ll start a discussion first.

While he is an OverprotectiveDad, I found his idea of not wanting Ariel to go above the sea as justified, as Ariel could have gotten herself killed by humans. Triton\'s fear of humans isn\'t irrational either because humans \'\'\'eat fish.\'\'\' Also, his wife was killed by them in the prequel, making his protectiveness over Ariel more justified and understandable.

Plus, when it was revealed that Ariel had a crush on a guy, he had no problem with her infatuation and even \'\'encourages\'\' it (when normally, father have problems with their daughters dating) \'\'until\'\' he finds out Eric is a human, which is understandable, considering that (I\'ll repeat it again) humans eat fish.

Also, I don\'t see his fear of Ariel\'s safety as \
