Usually, people think of it as some sort of mystical life energy, but interpretations vary. Essence essentially means \\\"whatever makes you you\\\". The word \\\"essence\\\" is directly used when speaking of what components Reapers take from organics to construct new versions of themselves. If we\\\'re willing to be very loose with our interpretations, we can say that Reapers do indeed take the \\\"soul\\\" of a species, insofar as soul means \\\"essence\\\".

ExamplesAreNotArguable, and MrFanservice often suffers misuse and shoehorning. It\'s not a character the audience find attractive or people in-verse. He has to have {{Fanservice}} scenes, at least some {{Shirtless Scene}}s. As far as I remember, Murdoch doesn\'t match these criteria. I like him too, he\'s handsome, manly and cute, in a suit, intelligent and science here... What\'s not to like? But he\'s not Mr Fanservice. (At least yet.)
