Aoife Moran: I can\'t remember the chapter it\'s in, but I do remember it being said by Professor Wen when discussing Ba Sing Se that the city itself sprung up overnight. Not some ram-shackle village either - a fully formed city. The Fire Navy, I think the one meant to be the Expy of Gibbs from NCIS, was saying about how the world they live in is one of the Spirits and the creatures they look after. Humans, was saying, were the ones who came from outta nowhere, and some spirits didn\'t like it. Adding to the fact that Earth King Kuei descends from a long line of shamans marrying other powerful shamans in the Earth Kingdom, and I have a feeling that somehow, Kuei\'s first ancestors may have been the people who stepped out of Ba Sing Se. And I think he might have the power to neutralize, even stop, an Avatar, if the city itself doesn\'t negate him in some way. Humans are conquerors by nature; subduing the spirits of that land must have been one of the things they did to survive.

\\\"In The Great Mouse Detective, a Mouse World version of Sherlock Holmes, the combination of three substances on a piece of paper are used to pinpoint a villain\\\'s hangout, the only bar (brandy) located where the sewer (coal dust) meets the river front (salt water). It could of course have been dropped by a coal deliveryman who\\\'d treated himself to a Quick Nip and bought a bag of chips on his way home from work, but hey.\\\"

It helps that: They\\\'d seen it dropped by the bad guy\\\'s chief assistant; and it had a list of items that they knew the assistant had been collecting. (The second to last item was when he dropped it.)
