** Why does this movie use the veneer of science when everything about the movie\\\'s technology is clearly magical? Soul-transference, a magic talisman, etc. Replace the world \\\"Science\\\" and \\\"Scientist\\\" with \\\"Magic\\\" and \\\"Wizard\\\" and the movie makes more sense.
*** RuleMagic? In any case, its \\\"alchemy\\\", not magic. If FullMetalAlchemist is any indication
** If your soul can be divided nine times before you die, why don\\\'t people live 9 times like a cat?
*** Because the soul needs to be \\\'\\\'cut\\\'\\\' before it divides. In its natural state, death is death is death, and one death takes out the whole soul. If you divided your soul beforehand and placed 8/9ths of it in storage just in case, \\\'\\\'then\\\'\\\' you could have nine lives.
** How can souls have infinite energy? The Sackboys don\\\'t never need to eat or recharge, and can seemingly run forever on 1/9th of an extremely old man\\\'s soul. This movie has no concept of conservation of energy.
*** The energy probably doesn\\\'t come from the soul, but the machinery. As for what\\\'s fueling them, unknown. Microfusion? Alchemic runes?
*** Hey, you usually don\\\'t see humans eat or NobodyPoops poop, but we know humans in movies \\\'\\\'must\\\'\\\' eat and poop. Maybe the stitchpunks have fuel, but we never see it because it\\\'s not important to the plot.
** How can a robot war stop rain from happening and apparently erase water from the face of the planet?! The character\\\'s reaction at the end indicates that this is the first time they\\\'ve ever seen water.
*** Who said water was erased from the earth? There just wasn\\\'t any lakes, rivers, or oceans near the town where the action takes place. For all we know, the oceans are still there. As for the robot war stoping rain from happening, the gas could have fucked up the atmosphere as well as kill all the plants, animals, and humans. That\\\'s the basis of GlobalWarming, after all.
*** Killing all the plants for hundreds of miles probably \\\'\\\'would\\\'\\\' disrupt rain cycles, because there\\\'d be no transpiration to move moisture from soil to air.
** How would a gas kill off all life on the planet, including aquatic lifeforms?
*** Because water must be oxygenated, and the air in water comes from the atmosphere. Make a gas fundamentally poisonous and have it so widespread that it seeps into the water quickly. How the hell they could do this, no idea; probably alchemy.
*** Again, who said that the aquatic lifeforms are dead? The stitchpucks just saw everything in the town and surrounding area being killed, and assumed that the gas killed everything. Plus, they\\\'ve never seen the ocean, so they don\\\'t know what aquatic lifeforms are.
** How does building a giant robot that RUNS ON HUMAN SOULS seem like a good idea?
*** Because it isn\\\'t fueled by human souls. It \\\'\\\'wants\\\'\\\' human souls, but those aren\\\'t its power source. It runs off of whatever the sackboys are running off of - again, presumably microfusion or alchemic plot power.
** .... If it weren\\\'t for the fact you listed the FridgeLogic, I would have to WhatTheHellHero call you out on using the ItJustBugsMe page to complain how a movie sucks. The main page even says not to use it for that!
*** I think he\\\'s just using a paper-thin veneer to hide the fact that he\\\'s complaining about a movie he doesn\\\'t like. I\\\'d like to request this entire section of the entry be deleted.

As pointed out in the natter, this entire section was just an excuse Complain About a Movie he didn\\\'t Like.
