None of the real life stuff is relevant; it\'s about humans compared to other \'\'species\'\', not humans compared with each other. There\'s no point in explaining how Europe is not an example of the trope when nobody said it \'\'was\'\' an example in the first place. It\'s a JustifyingEdit to an example that\'s not even on the page.

Anyway, on a tangent, I\'ve never seen this trope used the way you seem to be thinking. The aliens and elves are never made to look inherently slow and stupid - it\'s that humans are developing unnaturally fast. You don\'t need to compare yourself to any other society and draw {{Unfortunate Implication}}s to find the inspiration for that theme: anyone who\'s lived long enough to feel completely lost by new technology has experienced it. This trope\'s about how quickly social changes and technology seem to be speeding up as a whole, not a comparison of one country to another.

Anyway, as I said, GeniusCountry may deserve its own trope page.

Anyway, on a tangent, I\'m wondering if you\'re a science-fiction fan. This trope\'s very common, but I\'ve never seen it used the way you seem to be thinking. None of what you\'ve said is relevant. Nothing in this page is talking about terrestrial cultures, so there is no point in explaining how Europe is \'\'not\'\' an example of the trope when nobody said it \'\'was\'\' an example in the first place.

\'\'For every \'\'\'species\'\'\' bar one, Medieval Stasis is how the world works. Changes in technology and society take hundreds of years, and \'\'\'any existing alien civilizations or elf kingdoms\'\'\' today looks more or less the same as it did a century ago - or will in a century more. For most races in the setting slow change is the norm.
