I think the problem is that the literal reading of Types 1 and 3 \'\'are\'\' so rare, and the literal reading of Type 7, as the BettyAndVeronica trope shows, is so common (in fact, for most people, it\'s the definition of LoveTriangle), that we\'ve narrowed the definition of double-sided arrows for Type 7 only and shoehorned the rest into Types 1 and 3. This is especially the case with Type 1.

It doesn\\\'t help that the meaning of the double-sided arrow (and sometimes even the single-sided one) seems to change all the time anyway from description to description, but usually the definition is broadened (often to mean \\\"loyalty\\\") to avoid HoYay; Type 7\\\'s definition comes off as unusually tight.
