Or a drive for order, like the necrons. Also, do remember that alignment is mostly affected by \'\'methods\'\', not goals. For instance, somebody wants to destroy all life to bring total order to the world, and he manipulates the law system of his country to get to a position in which he has enough power to execute his plan, and he still keeps within the rules and regulations of his country while working towards killing off everything. Would you class that kind of villain as ChaoticEvil simply because he has a goal that is common for many ChaoticEvil villains? Also, you sound like you think an ulterior motive removes any and all possibilities of him being omnicidal. The trope itself is simply a villain that plans on destroying anything, and it says nothing about motivations on doing so.

Some don\'t even want total order to dominate either, it only suffices that it \'\'is there\'\'. As to this, it is a major flaw to the theory that anybody who wants to destroy anything is chaotic by default. Yeah, sorry, but my point is that just because you are an OmnicidalManiac doesn\\\'t mean that you can\\\'t use lawful methods to see it through. Also, LawfulEvil doesn\\\'t mean you want to rule anything, just to achieve order, and I think that your statement that \\\"if there is no activity, how can there be order?\\\" should be put the other way, if there is no order, how can there be chaos? If there is no activity, it is entirely static, therefore entirely orderly, since there is no change, and therefore no chaos.
