I\'m not entirely sure which this trope is considered an inversion of ItCanThink. Look at Literature/{{Daemon}}, for example. Early in the book, it is explicitly stated that the titular program is not a true AI, but merely a big and complex decision tree created by a {{Chessmaster}} of a software developer. Which is a problem, because it means the Daemon can\'t be reasoned, bribed or terrorised into abandoning its orders.
