Feels like VideoGame/OgreBattleTheMarchOfTheBlackQueen is a closer match? 5 countries taken over and forming a new evil Empire. Main character is also a lord. Leads a faction called the Liberation Army. The gameplay is also much more like Ogrebattle than Fire Emblem (Real time overworld map, squad of units who act automatically based on player-assigned tactics).
