Don\\\'t most non-binary people go by \\\"they\\\" or \\\"them\\\"? I also refer to genderless Pokémon by the sex they most resemble. For this very reason. Human or not, they deserve respect.

Update: I\\\'ve had a talk with a friend on the matter, though between the time of posting this comment and the talk with them, I guess it\\\'s more the intent behind the word than the word itself the makes it disrespectful. The friend in question said that \\\"Apathy doesn\\\'t always equal disrespect\\\", concerning how when you catch a fairy with a net in \\\'\\\'VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast\\\'\\\', the options are \\\"Let it go\\\" or \\\"[[FairyInABottle Keep it in a bottle]]\\\", despite all the fairies (at least the ones shown in-game) being [[OneGenderRace female]].
