ForgotAboutHisPowers was put on the page because he died without using Yamamoto's Bankai. I removed it because the only time he could have used it, he didn't use any of his huge range of powers that Ichigo could do nothing about, and there was a partial explanation for why.

The entry was readded as ForgottenPhlebotinum, with the edit reason being that the point is that he never used Yamamoto's Bankai. It's also now a ZeroContextExample, so it'll need re-editing anyway.

My point is that he never used a lot of things and, because there's a partial explanation for why, it's not one of the 'Forgotten' tropes (which are for no explanation situations). It's HoldingBackThePhlebotinum instead.

* HoldingBackThePhlebotinum: Yhwach uses minimal power when dealing with any situation because he's too powerful for anything to threaten him and can see all possible futures to counter them before they happen -- with the sole exception of Uryuu. During his final battle, he fights only with his sword and uses none of his abilities, from arrows to Sklaverie to Yamamoto's stolen Bankai to the Soul King's stolen power. This allows Uryuu to completely de-power him just long enough for Ichigo to strike the killing blow. Only then does Yhwach realise that he did actually foresee Ichigo killing him so could have countered it from happening. However, he dismissed it as a bad dream because Haschwalth deliberately passed the vision to him while he was sleeping to trick him. As a result, Yhwach dies in a straight sword-fight with an opponent who was unable to handle any of the abilities Yhwach could have used to end the fight.

My argument is that the point actually is the context: Uryuu is immune to his power and used an arrow that completely de-powered him (he couldn't use any powers), allowing Ichigo to kill him. However, it got to that point because he engaged in a straight sword-fight with Ichigo instead of using any of his powers (Sklaverie, The Almighty, Yamamoto's Bankai, the Soul King's power, any of the powers he'd absorbed from dead Quincies or absorbed from living Quincies, and so on).

That's actually not the point (we all know he didn't use it). The point is that Yhwach had an entire plethora of abilities that he could have used (Yamamoto's Bankai was just one) and he didn't use any of them. I'd argue that isn't the point, because everyone agrees it wasn't used. The issue is why. There are range of powers Yhwach did not use that he could have (such as a Vollstandig level ability, or the Sklaverie that he displays when he first enters the story, and so on, or the entire range of powers he's reclaimed back from all the dead Quincies, etc.). In other words, Yamamoto's Bankai is just one part of the issue, not the only issue.

We are given an explanation in this fight for why Yhwach can be defeated at all, which I think applies to why he was holding back all the power options he could have used.
* Uryuu is immune to his power, so can act without Yhwach 'seeing' him.
* He is hit with an arrow that de-powers him completely for a single moment (he cannot use any powers when de-powered).
* That single moment is all the time Ichigo has in which to strike the killing blow - which he successfully does.
* As Yhwach realises this is the killing blow, he understands that he did foresee the future where Ichigo would kill him, but the vision passed to him through Haschwalth. He realises then that Haschwalth tricked him by disguising the premonition as a bad dream, causing Yhwach to dismiss it and not recognise its importance.

So, what we've got here, I think, is HoldingBackThePhlebotinum. I'm suggesting the example be written as follows:

* HoldingBackThePhlebotinum: Yhwach uses minimal power when dealing with any situation because he's too powerful for anything to threaten him and can see all possible futures to counter them before they happen -- with the sole exception of Uryuu. During his final battle, he fights only with his sword and uses none of his abilities, from arrows to Sklaverie to Yamamoto's stolen Bankai. This allows Uryuu to completely de-power him just long enough for Ichigo to strike the killing blow. Only then does Yhwach realise that he did actually foresee Ichigo killing him, but dismissed it as a bad dream because Haschwalth deliberately passed the vision to him while he was sleeping to trick him. As a result, Yhwach dies without having used any of the abilities that could have potentially prevented his death.
