But several of them, for example UnwittingPawn, \'\'are\'\' character tropes - they\'re just not CharacterizationTropes, but they are CharactersAsDevice tropes. I suggest at least some of them are re-instated. Any trope that describes a character\'s role in the story would count as a character, wouldn\'t it? I agree that OhCrap is not a character trope, because that trope just describes a single, brief scene and not the character\'s overall personality, motives and role, but if UnwittingPawn is not a character trope, I don\'t know what is.
