3) The critique is not a review left on your fic or anything and is just a generalized statement on a discussion forum/article (or seperate fic that disagrees) of the genre or whatnot. Such as, to use crossovers as an example again, there\'s a discussion on an anime forum about crossovers being corny, or someone writes a separate fic saying so, or there\'s a section on a crossovers fan site specifically FOR people that disagree to speak their minds respectfully. In that case, you\'re just trying to avoid any criticism just because you don\'t wanna hear it, and you\'re a hypocrite for going on a discussion forum (not a fan forum) where it\'s obvious it\'s also for people who disagree as well. Freedom of expression doesn;t just apply to you, it applies for everyone and they have a right to disagree with you.

1) You give warnings/labels for whatever it contains, the person uninvitedly reads it anyway, and sends you a nasty review on your fic. Then you can call them out, they should\'ve expected it.

Then you can call them out, they should\\\'ve expected it.

Examples of right way: 1) You give warnings/labels for whatever it contains, the person uninvitedly reads it anyway, and sends you a nasty review on your fic. Then you can call them out, they should\'ve expected it.
2) Someone goes beyond criticism and actually tries to get stuff they don\'t like removed/tries to stop you from writing it. You can tell them there\'s a different solution.

Examples of wrong way: 1) There actually was no warning or label-how can you know whether you like something or not before you read it?

3) The critique is not a review left on your fic or anything and is just a generalized statement on a discussion forum/article of the genre or whatnot (leaving a flame on a fic that disagrees is the same).
