First off. Randomly posting sources isn't quite in line with Tvtropes rules. Even if it were, using Anecdotal evidence is frowned upon just about everywhere.

In any case, yes, putting a rifle through extreme stress will break. Even so, the AR's handguard remained relatively cool.

The horn bit was collateral damage, feel free to add the horn back, although just on the side, add it ''outside'' the link.

Admittedly the rifled bit is incorrect, although honestly, I wouldn't put it above happeing. The Soviets were notoriously corrupt and inefficent, if Kalashnikov were in charge of the rifle's design, and had enough political backing, anyone upstaging him with a better design (Such as proper rifling) would likely have been brushed off.

The AK's ironsights ''are'' mounted in the middle instead of the rear, and it requires special modification to accept any scopes. This is true even today, despite railing-compatible models existing, those are after-market designs. Early 20th century ''is'' WWII era. So I don't see how that's inaccurate. Frankly, the fact that the sight's still all the way up there is a rather glaring design flaw, and on easily solvable at that. Don't really see why they don't bother to do so.

Anyways. We're going to be cutting down the size of the whole page, thousand-word text walls aren't exactly what we're looking for.
