There was this educational series dealing with a small crew of marine biologists (or oceanographers). The plot and characters were fictional, but it heavily incorporated real documentary footage of marine life too. the main characters were a man who I think was captain, his son (who was sort of the AudienceSurrogate), and a deaf woman. The woman was the one who did most of the diving, I believe. I think I was watching it in the early 90\'s, but it could be older than that.
