What trope is appropriate for the more \'\'literal\'\' context of dead siblings, who may or may \'\'\'not\'\'\' have died because the sibling left behind couldn\'t protect them?

For a long time, I used to think that DeadLittleSister was that trope, until I started scrutinizing through the trope descriptions for my own pages and saw the trope\'s name has more of a metaphorical context and that it has a very specific definition of, as the laconic page put it, \"the protector failing to protect the protectee\" and having that event define him as a character.

The example I was trying to form before I found this out was of a young child\'s younger sibling dying in the same accident as his parents. While the event did have emotional impact on him, it was not due to failing to protect her (as accidents, are of course, beyond his power to control).

Or are tropes flexible, in this case?
