So on the [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13543987200A54420100&page=1091#comment-27261 Is This An Example thread]], there is a disagreement over whether or not the different Digimon shows are considered different seasons of a single show, or whether they are different series in a larger franchise, and by extension, whether tropes like SeasonalRot are applicable. While some of the shows already have entries on that page, is it correct to treat them as seasons? While fans often colloquially refer to them as separate seasons, it seems the official position of the creators is that they are separate series. Not helping the confusion is that the first four series were advertised as seasons of one show in the US. For what it’s worth, with the exception of one SequelSeries, plus a reboot, each show takes place in a separate continuity. How should they be classified?
