Nippon Ichi (Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, etc.)

Disgaea 4 is going to come out on Vita at some point in the future. As it stands, Disgaea 3 came out for it very recently.

Has it been officially announced, or are you just estimating based on Disgaea 3 getting one? (I am not doubting that Disgaea 4 will get a Vita port, just that it is already confirmed to be getting one)

I don't think its been announced, but they've put all of the games up to three on Sony portable systems. Its an easily predicted trend.

By the time it gets ported, Disgaea 5 will be out (if they're making one). That's also part of the pattern.

Yeah. The portable versions always turn out better than the original, what with the extra campaigns and extra DLC and all.

Well, I think Disgaea 3 Vita is the first of the ports that actually adds more gameplay features. The ports of 1 and 2 just added an extra mode and maybe a character or two, which is nice, but not really worth getting the same game mutiple times for IMO.

Of course, I find that the "hold out for the portable port, as it's going to be better" mindset you guys have kinda...bad. The original has to sell for there to be a port, or else the company might skip over it, citing lack of interest. I don't think Disgaea 4 would have a problem with this, but it sets a bad trend IMO.

Besides, I can see debating between getting a console or portable version, but debating over getting the console version that is out, or a portable version that is only hypothetical? Kinda strange.

Also, this is just personal, but Disgaea is one of those games that looks best on a TV screen.

I do not own a PS3. There. Decision made.
The port of 2 also added Magichange and all of the ports have tweaked the gameplay to be more like its sequels.

I really wonder why Disgaea 1's ports haven't been ultra-super-duper upgraded. I want to play as Laharl, Etna and Flonne in HD with the updated mechanics, dammit.

And I still question why they didn't use the upgraded sprites for the Vita version of Disgaea 3.

The answer to why they didn't do the better sprites for Disgaea 3 Vita? They couldn't be assed to sprite all the unique characters and classes that weren't in Disgaea 4, probably. Of course, I could just be cynical.

I can understand wanting to wait for the port because you don't have a PS 2/3, but there are people who do have the right console for the original, but say they are going to hold out for the eventual port anyway, because it will be "better". I think that is not good. If that makes sense.

I would also really like a ultra-super-duper upgraded Disgaea 1 port.

...Despite what I said about buying the same game twice, a Disgaea 1: Anniversary Edition or something that was more of a remake than a port, and updated all the gameplay and sprites and such would be lovely. Disgaea 1 has not aged as gracefully as I would have hoped.

Anyone wanna suggest the idea to NIS themselves?

The 10th anniversary is next year...

Someone on the Nippon Ichi Forums pointed out that Iris Heart HDD has the same color scheme as Sega Mega Drive.◊ They aren't 100% sure since their translator said the scans are too blurry to read.

TBQH, based on how you can recruit her and how you can't recruit villians in the previous games, I'd assume that she's no more evil than the other goddesses in the first game were.

Based on the translation here by Zazza345, Pururut is an airhead and lazy, heck supposedly she wears her slippers everywhere and she fights with stuffed animals. When goes HDD, you don't want to be around her, weather it's friend or foe.
