Got the third girl in TriFocuser. It's Takatou Tobiko, the stage 2 boss from Book of Star Mythology
Aya-level charge times and I think distance photography, but has larger photos and no autotargeting. She seems pretty bad
The linked video said you need to clear 4-9 to get her, but I'd expect you probably have to clear 4-7 and 4-8 as well. It's just that 4-7 and 4-8 are trivial to clear and I don't imagine many people are clearing 4-9 before them
So, the game gets stupidly hard towards the end. Luckily things also unlock pretty fast, so I've got access to level FC (which is after 9) despite not having cleared much in the later levels. Going by what's in the music room, I think I'm only missing the final boss
Overall I'd say that this is a fairly good game that could have been a very good game if it'd gone through more play-testing. Some great stuff, but also some bullshit stuff
Worth a look
Sure is a lot songs all of a sudden.
What original music is the Pizuya Cell one based from, if any?
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.Old Adam Bar from Dateless Bar "Old Adam". A song so happy and upbeat, even the RD-Sounds arrange was light-hearted. Yet somehow Pizuya managed to make it dark.
Say, is there any reason to use Cirno in HSiFS? I mean, beyond seeing her story

So in keeping with the re purposing of historical figures, the final boss of Tri Focuser is Hosokawa Gracia.
Song of the SirensIs there a word for 'fallen angel' in japanese?
The words "Fallen Tenshi" is pretty amusing.

Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.Cirno's wide shot is quite good for clearing the screen of enemies and keeping your shot on the boss even when focused and on the other side of the screen.
And she can be augmented with winter lasers or spring blossoms for more focused damage.
And her bomb is nice. But so are all the HSIFS bombs. We're a long way from SA.
I have a message from another time...I keep forgetting Cirno's not the winter character in HSIFS.
Song of the SirensPlease don't stereotype fairies.
- Her technique for making a depressed Marisa smile
- Baju Kurung (a.k.a. Wool's best Kagerou yet)
Heh, that was pretty fun to watch.
Don't think I've run into that skit yet. Or did I? I'm watching the anime now, you see. Finished watching 16 episodes so far.
It's supposedly on episode 19 according to google, so maybe you haven't come across it.
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.I noticed that with the exception of Hirasaka Makoto, all the artists of the official manga are women. I wonder why.
Touhou is about female energies, to borrow a half-remembered term from Thomas LaMarre's "The Anime Machine". The series is built on an underlying concept of femininity that associates the feminine with mystery, grace and power in beauty. ZUN probably trusts a female artist to be more capable of tapping into that feminine potential than a man approaching the subject from an outsider's perspective.
TMI: This is particularly obvious to me in regards to porn. Female artists tend to draw women in a different way than male artists, likely because they are more familiar with female bodies and are more used to treating women as humans first and objects of desire second, whereas male artists tend to draw women in a more objectifying way, reducing women to a set of traits that they find appealing.
Or, you know, maybe he didn't put nearly that much thought into it and just hired whoever happened to have a cute but not super-generic style.

I do wonder how he met these artists, though. Particularly Harukawa Moe, who apparently wasn't familiar with Touhou beforehand.
When a fairy-themed roguelike spinoff is made.
