Mokou looks really good in this artstyle.

Agreed, she looks especially handsome in this.

The "I'll investigate it. Next time." Line really got me, as did the part where Reimu and Marisa both only remembered Kasen talking about food.

edit: Also, sleeveless Reimu still looks weird. Did Kasen take them off?

Mokou's bare-handed bamboo chop right after Reimu was ranting about the bamboo's hardness was pretty bad ass.

And yay! It's a reasonable explanation that I myself used to explain why people would ever walk through the Bamboo forest of the Lost when they could fly instead.

I also am amused by Mokou cutting the bamboo. I'm reminded of the Tale of the Bamboo cutter that spawned Princess Kaguya. If the bamboo shoots are overflowing with life, maybe that's why her bamboo shoot glowed back in the day (what with her being a hourai immortal). Also there's some amusing irony to Mokou cutting the glowing Bamboo. Maybe she's been practicing for the next time Kaguya ends up in a bamboo shoot.

Heh, or maybe she initially cut them open because she thought Kaguya was hiding in them and yay murder. Then she was all disappointed.

I love the way Reimu non-chalantly starts turning it into a game of Shiritori, Marisa proudly keeps it going without missing a beat and Sanae is kind of confused but wants to play along to be part of the group. That's an excellent display of personality dynamics.

Reimu and Marisa were even cuter than usual this chapter. Strong Mokou is strong. Imagine what a chop like that could do to Kaguya's face.

Can anyone tell me what's their reason for not flying all the time? 'Cause I haven't read Wa HH yet and I can't really skip 39 chapters just for a minor canon detail that should have been clarified years ago with Reimu's float outside of reality skill
