ALL OF MY D'AWWW
I wonder what a child raised under Touhou would be like. Also, nice shelf.

And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!So I recently found out about a board game called The Battle at Kemble's Cascade, which is designed to imitate top-down shooters. (Courtesy Boardgamegeek link.)
The play area is made up of a series of plastic tracks with cards depicting asteroids, alien ships, and so forth slotted into them. At the end of every round, you empty the bottom row, move it to the top, and slide a new set of cards into it. Anyone in the bottom row gets moved up a space, as they're being pushed by the bottom of the screen.
You maneuver through this mess by spending energy, which also acts as your life. You can shed "threat" (the way the game represents bullets flying at you) by moving, but you have to carefully balance how much energy you spend each turn to avoid blowing up or getting pushed into a black hole.
So... it crossed my mind that this might be a fun system for a Touhou board game.
That does sound like a cool idea for that. I'd be interested in such a thing. And with so many characters, there's a ton of options for missions and variants.
I have a message from another time...Neko Sisters: "Surrender the food and we may spare your life."

Yukari decided to pay Kosuzu a visit. I can't say that I saw that one coming. Now for the big question though: Why did she decide to visit her in the first place. Despite being a the main character of the manga you would think that she would be kinda unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff. For what it's worth, this is the first time since chapter 1 that the title of the chapter doesn't have "Part 1" or "Part 2" So we might be temporarily out of mini-arc mode.
I wonder how long till FS ends, after the last issue shook up the status quo a bit, I just don't see the previous episodic nature continuing any longer.
So, impressions, an exposition issue concerning the relation between humans and youkai where a mutual hatred of sorts is required to be crucial in sustaining the continued existence of the youkai. Not much else to see here, most of these things we already know of, waiting to see what words of wisdom Yukari will share with Kosuzu.
Am I the only one who enjoyed that conversation between Akyu and Kosuzu for its own sake? I didn't think this chapter was "just exposition", that was the one of the tensest moments in the series.
Out of mini-arc mode and into long-form narrative
Wow, stuff's getting real as Kosuzu slowly finds out about the truth of Gensokyo. Really eager to see what happens next. I like how Kosuzu gives us a viewpoint that we've been missing: that of a regular human villager.
What really interested me was that Yukari got involved for some reason. I notice she has been popping up a little bit here and there, nudging things along to some sort of end goal. Wonder if Kosuzu will end up having to play a role in that or if Yukari is trying to defuse the situation.

I liked Marisa's exposition. Shows that for all her merriment and questionability, she's more aware of the greater things than she makes herself appear to.
I liked that part too. It was things we already knew, more or less, so it's not straight up exposition. But it wasn't thinks Suzy knew, and it made her think a little more about Gensokyo's and her own situation.
And of course, Yukari is as lovely as always.
Check out my fanfiction!Oh no not her again
I suspect Yukari's warning will be something like "don't rock the boat". Then again, she thinks in spirals, so I frankly have no real idea what she'll say.

Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Great chapter! Has there ever been a story longer then 2 chapters in the 3 main comics? Story seriousness intensifies!
Anyone else notice Akyuu's hand pg 14? Its looks like an old persons claw. Maybe it's not an art error, as Akyuu is supposed to have a pretty short lifespan, and that could be manifesting.
Pretty sure it's just an innocuous error. Akyuu had ugly hands in the previous issue as well.
She's only 24 this year.
Geez, after a long absence Yukari's really making up for it. First showing up in Marisa's Lo LK ending, then popping up in Wa HH again, then to confront Kosuzu in FS. Next thing you know she'll show up in the Fairies manga to warn Clownpiece about Hell's robot-zombie army invading the surface world or something.

I really like those pages that very nicely summarize the history of Youkai/Gensokyo. Will be good to link to if the topic ever comes up again in a discussion, or we get a new poster who is unclear on it. Also, they just FEEL very well-made, you know? Like a cool lore-explanation montage in a fantasy movie, set to epic music.
This art is amazing as $%§&.
I love everything about this. Kosuzu represents both a typical normal human in this setting, being confronted with all this stuff, as well as a typical Touhou fan just starting out, trying to get a grip on how this setting works.
Wait, it's over already!? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

ZUN's 2-years old son saw Touhou figures in his workplace and referred them as Hinamatsuri/Hina dolls.
