clownpiece you dingus
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThis one's a cute cheery one as always. I love the windy continuity too.
We did get to see Hecatia in Gensokyo but she's just there to drop off Clowpy in a flashback. Guess it's too soon to see more. Question, is Clowpy's description of hell a reference to a myth or a literature? It sounds oddly familiar unless I'm misremembering.
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter. To be honest, my favorite part of the chapter is that her in-universe nickname is now officially "Piece". Think of all the puns you can do with that! World Piece. I want a Piece of that. There will be Piece in our time. The possibilities are endless!
I'm not a Hell expert or anything, but the Mountain of Needles is a classic part of Buddhist Hell that's been reference quite a lot in Touhou. Most recently in WAHH 33, when Kasen was drinking with Mamizou and compared herself to an oni in Hell, working in the Mountain of Needles. Frankly, Buddhist Hell is one of those infinity things that Indian religions love so much, so it wouldn't surprise me if literally anything was a part of Buddhist Hell.
She could also be referencing other Hells though, of course.

Oh, the irony.
I was aware of that problem while typing it, but you can see where I'm coming from here, right? In D&D terms, everyone in Touhou would be considered a caster, since they can all fly and do Danmaku and stuff. So, the analogy still stands, that in that world where that is normal, Marisa without any broken superpowers is simple and straightforward. That's all I meant.
EDIT: OH GODS! The Five Fairies Comic is here already!? I'm not ready! Reactions a bit later.

"Mystia is a former German nun“ -Clarste //// "[...]collectively, we have the power to destroy the Aki sandwich" -ClarsteThe only one I recognized was the one with the winds, she's referencing the 2nd Circle of Hell from Dante's Inferno.

Does she say 'lunatic time' in English? Like in Stage 5.
Heart of StoneNo, sorry, that was an embellishment. She just said it was the right time to go crazy, in Japanese, so I just assumed.
I put the stuff she says in English in a different font. "Wow" "Thank you" etc. Well, she also says "grotesque" in English, but that doesn't seem especially different from the random English word peppered into other characters' dialog.

I just wondered cuz it's easily the most memorable thing she says in LoLK.
Heart of StoneWell, yeah. That's why I used it.
That fruit to the left of the apple looks like ackee, except that it has bunches of seeds rather than ackee's one seed per quarter.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. In related news, there is now an official map of Gensokyo.◊
10/10 would use if spirited away.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Now all debates on Gensoukyou's size and location placement can be quelled.
As we all know, the Human Village only has 4 houses and is smaller than the tree the fairies live in. Also Yukkuri are near the Shrine and mushrooms, beware wary traveler!
It's most certainly the most definitive map of Gensoukyou as of yet. The kind Akyuu would want to put in her Encyclopedias.

its certainly
a map
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaFrom the panoramic view with Hecatia and Piece, the Human "Village" is enormous.
Heart of StoneFor convenience's sake, he means this one.◊
You know, that is the first time I have seen a really good picture of the Human Village from a higher angle. The place is rather large.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Less a village and more a small town.
I'm guessing that steaming hole behind the Hakurei Shrine is the entrance to Former Hell.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Arright! Time to read Part Two of this Touhou-Manga-tastic day! Man, soo lookin' forward to this!
Excellent, the tradition of the Fairies eating poisonous stuff continues ^^ Try it at home, kids!
That huge splash panel with Heca and Gensokyo was awesome. What the balls is her plan? If there even is one.
Aw man, I'd have preferred to have more of the Haunted Hell Basement at the end there Was over way too quickly. Just like the whole chapter. I want mooore
That is indeed amazing! But... I dunno, it sounds a bit weird to me ^^ ; it sounds like a nickname that street thugs or Matrix characters would give to themselves/each other ^^
Haha (That's a giant ant!)
Yukkuris are now canon.

"Mystia is a former German nun“ -Clarste //// "[...]collectively, we have the power to destroy the Aki sandwich" -ClarsteRegarding Luna's berries, I'm not sure they're Quercus gilva. Quercus is oak.
From their description (poisonous apart from the flesh of the berries), plus the way they look, I'd've said it's yew.
Heart of StoneAlso, don't oaks grow acorns and not berries?
About the, um, "map", could that be the mist lake depicted in the lower left part of the map? Does that mean villagers have to cross a river, walk along a youkai-infested lake, then climb up a long set of stairs to get to the Hakurei shrine?
Scenic.
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.Lots of hilarious jokes in this chapter. I love the zelda reference when Sunny holds up the mushroom.
And also "Are you sure you want to go to hell? It's literally hell."
Kicker on the cake was that last one about Reimu's wrath, lol.
Thanks, Clarste. I love how ZUN shows Gensokyo from so many different perspectives with all these various official works.
New Daniel Renard animation.
I'm assuming those ruins in the new FS chapter are some kind of Tengu building. "Can't you just fly?" was my first thought on seeing Marisa exhausted from climbing the cliff, too. Anyway, FS Aya's still as awesome as ever.
As for the new Three Fairies manga, It never stops being adorable how in awe Clownpiece is with the small wonders of the world. With her description of the torments of Hell, I could imagine her saying in her day she had to walk miles to school in the snow. I also wonder why Hecatia left her there. Maybe she's just siccing Clownpiece on Gensokyo in revenge for being thwarted in LoLK? But with how amazed she is by the surface, that might end up backfiring.
Finally... this cute video of ...

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.
Fairies Chapter 4, where everyone wants to go hunting. And Clownpiece knows about devilish rituals. And fairies want to go to litereal Hell. And there is only one way tickets from and to Hell. So Clownpiece made an almost literal Hell on Earth.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!
