All routes happened at the same time. Literally everything has always pointed towards this.
HELLZ YEAH, that's what I always wanted!
^^ Except don't one or more canon sources kinda contradict the whole "Reimu solved IN" thing? One of the Aya thingies said Reimu gets all defensive and misleading about it when asked as if she didn't actually get beyond the Bamboo Forest in time.
Reimu was saying that she did all that stuff, and Aya didn't believe her. That's all there was to that conversation. That says more about Reimu's reputation than whether or not she actually did stuff. Although frankly I don't think Reimu has it in her to lie about that kind of thing anyway.

I wonder if Youmu has something in common with Raiden?
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."3. Spends a lot of time being manipulated and ordered around by shadowy forces she doesn't comprehend.
4. Should know that a soul can't be cut.
She can totally cut souls though.
Well that's important to know for later, but when did that happen?
From the very beginning. One of her swords cuts through confusion, and the other one cuts ghosts.
But can it cut the skin off a tomato?

While listening I've been wondering, what does everyone here think about how the Eo SD soundtracks have aged?
I mean the in-game one, not remasters or remixes. Listening to that soundtrack now, it definitely sounds very different than the other Windows Touhou soundtracks due to using an older soundfront that might not sound pleasant to some ears. But at the same time, Septette and U.N. Owen are still the most known tracks in Touhou. If you listen to them now, how do they compare to later game soundtracks?
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.U.N. Owen's alright, but I get kinda annoyed when people think it's the best song ZUN's ever made, and nothing else could possibly compare.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. These days I choose my favorite touhou songs based on which ones get rad lyricalive covers
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHaha! That's great to hear. It is indeed true for me that Lyrica Live's songs have awoken appreciation in me for several Touhou songs that I had never even known about (Mary&Renko ones) or had never liked much (Murasa, Prismrivers). Being able to have lyrics to sing along to helped make those songs more distinctive and memorable in my head, very good thing! (But even Lyrica couldn't save Kaguya's Theme for me, shame...)
As to EOSD Music: hmmm, I agree that the tracks are a bit... older, cruder, maybe. But for me, almost all have still aged super well, and I still consider them as good as any new song (top songs: Patchy, Sakuya).
EDIT: Actually, I wanna elaborate on Sakuya's EOSD Theme a bit! I love it so freakin' much, but I think it's very underappreciated, or at least not talked about a lot generally. It's just... it's completely RAW. Pure aggression, mixed with elegance (while Flowering Night is pure elegance). I'd consider it one of the most aggressive, relentless themes of Touhou, and it just conjures up amazing images of knives, knives everywhere. It's the Theme of Sakuya the ice cold killer, the ninja maid; while Flowering Night is the Theme of Sakuya the Perfect Elegant Maid. Very few other characters have two so-different themes like that... another great one is Suika, we have her pure-fun party one, and her HOLY-CRAP-SHE'S-A-MONSTER-one.
Together, the two themes are the Yin and Yang of those characters. I just love that! In a perfect world, every character would have that! Can you imagine, that would be so cool! We could have maybe a theme for the Eirin that cold-as-ice killed her own kind to protect Kaguya, Eirin the schemer, the impossibly ancient mastermind... (Eirin's Theme that we do have is, to me, for a regal, noble, elegant Eirin).

Acually, people consider Septette the best song that nothing can compare to. I mean, if you look the polls.
Indeed! And it's been like this for FOREVER. And it is baffling. I mean... why? Ok, so, it sounds kinda cool, end-boss-worthy, regal, elegant. And Remilia is really fun, a cool antagonist. But... that's it. I don't see the fanaticism about it Must be another Japanese Thing that I can't understand. Or simple nostalgia for the End Boss of the first Windows Game?
I still think Locked Girl is one of the best songs in the series. Second best, specifically. Still like Necrofantasia more.
Never really been that fond of U.N. Owen, but it's okay. Septette is one of those with a few great remixes, but the original is, well, still good, but not awesome.
Check out my fanfiction!Personally, I'm of the opinion that the originals have not aged amazingly. I like the tunes, but usually I prefer a remix.
Conception is sin Birth is pain Life is toil Death is inevitableHm... Yeah, the EoSD soundtrack sounds rough around the edges now compared to later soundtracks. But there's something about the composition that's still catchy/mesmerizing. Like Shanghai Teahouse for example. I like the middle portion of the song a lot.
I've always believed that poor Mystia nearly got devoured by Yuyuko in IN and that's when she realized it was her mission in life to open up a food cart and show the world that eel is much tastier than birds.
In universe I like the idea that Team Scarlet was able to resolve IN because Marissa and Reimu were too busy fighting each other and Yuyuko was having such fun trolling Youmu with her slow Mystery Food Tour.
