Touhou

This a strange world we live in where Touhou fangames get physical releases in America with Limited Editions of all things.

This card game is also for sale. Not a CCG, more like a Touhou-themed party game.

, Wooow! I was super unaware of all those Things! Man, Touhou gettin' closer and closer to the mainstream, it's sooo cool! ...man, a Touhou fangame comin' out on PS 4... it's insane to imagine maybe the Youtubers I follow, like the Co-Optional Podcast, actually talkin' about Touhou! Man!

...I really, really hope that both those Things linked above do maintain some standard of decency and adherence to canon instead of bein' fanservicey indulgences. Really don't want them to make Touhou look worse in the minds of the general public than it already does thanks to its reputation.

(EDIT: Checkin' out the Card Game now. First impression: Not bad! It's Chibi art, which I'm pretty MEH about But could be worse.)

(EDIT 2: WAIT! It's not all Chibi!! This looks awesome!◊ Got it immediately as a wallpaper. Nice! ...Holy crap, there's a lot of great art in there!!...erhhhh.... I think I WANT TO BUY THIS GAME!? Yeah, pretty much O_O))

@Hylarn's Pics: Oooh! It's interesting-looking Clown Girls with alternate costumes! I support that! Sure, we all love the MURICA costume, but seein' her in kinda more harlequin-ish clothes is pretty cool too, as a change of pace.

The downloadable cards (where the chibi art is) seem to be from an older version of the game. The other card you linked doesn't exist in them, for example. There's also a Tabletop Simulator mod that seems to have been made by the creator, but that's also obsolete (in that it doesn't have that card). So I'm not really sure what the physical version would look like.

Incidentally, I think Chibi art is probably the easiest way to maintain a standard of decency and not harm the franchise's reputation, blah blah blah. The alternative is essentially the midriff baring Reimu that pops up everywhere for inexplicable reasons.

It seems the PS 4 version of ULiL that will go live in a week is just a demo featuring only Reimu and Marisa and the full version yet has no date.

Aw chucks. There went my hopes to have answered who the new character is.

Speaking of Reimu's I read some WMG, and one rather funny one what popped up was that no one is fooled by Kasen's disguise and Reimu is just going along with it because she isn't really bothered to make a ruckus out of it.

Was it ever confirmed that there'd be a new character?

I like that theory as well. No one really seems to be fooled by her disguise. Komachi laughs at it, Suika too, etcetc.

If by "confirmed" you mean "a strange, possibly mistranslated sentence from ZUN made people believe there was a new char, and now it's 100% certain to them", then yes.

@Clarste re: the Card Game:

Yeah, same I'm really unsure now. I mean, I would expect at least all the char cards to have full art, not the Walfas-placeholders some have in that preview thing. And all the other cards have no pictures at all, just one placeholder symbol. But Clarste, where did you see a different version of the Youmu card? Maybe I looked in the wrong place.

But yeah, the FAQ on the site is still not up... and you say most of it is obsolete... how old is this thing? Does it still exist? And what do the cards now actually look like gaaaahhhh ^^ (Also: shipping to Germany would probably be impossible or super-difficult anyway, so I shouldn't even get my hopes up...)

There is no other version of the Youmu card (Challenger), which was my point mostly. It's a card that's been added since the previous set was made. Kourindou's effect also seems to have been changed. All the cards do have actual art in the Tabletop Simulator version though.

As for how old the thing is, it went on sale yesterday. So... kind of new. I'm just saying that the version being released physically seems to be quite different from the version available online.

Oh man... my fingers are kinda itchin' to just buy it ^^ I waaaaant it ^^ (Not that I expect my friends to want to play with me, I'd just like to have it as a collector's item) If it was on Amazon, I'd do it in a heartbeat, payment and shipping would be a piece of cake then. I just don't know what will happen if I were to click that "Buy Now" button.

Well, to be fair, you probably know me good enough by now to know that I hate non-Chibi-but-oversexualized Touhous even more than Chibi ones. Reimu midriff, however, is one of the least worries in terms of Touhou oversexualisation. Take more-than-double-D-Sanae, for example, who is in like 80% of all fanart ever made -_-

Sanae is probably the most stacked out of the 5 humans, with Youmu being the most petite, tied with Marisa I think. >.>

Marisa and Youmu are equally short. They are both Flat Chested. Nether one of them cares however.

I've always thought it was really weird to have a strong stance on the cup size of a given 2hu, though I'll agree with Fell Deeds that it's really offputting when fan-artists decide on GIGANTIC for base reasons.

Honestly, I see at most a D-cup being the absolute maximum for any character in this franchise, and even then that may still be too much.

Canonically the only characters depicted with noticeable amounts of cleavage are Komachi, Kasen, and Byakuren.
