There's a hard limit to page size. Things start breaking if you exceed it

Just feels kind of wasteful. Lots of small pages is annoying

I would also recommend adding, or at least linking, Alice and Yuuka to their respective Windows game positions.

If we're feeling generous, we could make a generic "protagonists" page for all playable non-fighter characters. And then I will be forced to knife-fight with someone about Remilia and Yukari.

Indeed, and neither do I. I did consider very briefly to include Sanae, Youmu and Sakuya in "Main Characters", but NO. Dismissed that. Can of worms, who gets in and who doesn't. But Reimu/Marisa, no question.

Nnnnno, gotta stay firm here. Rei/Mari are the Main Chars of the Franchise, there's a very clear distinction there from all others who sometimes are playable, sometimes not, sometimes cameo in a manga, sometimes not... Rei/Mari Only it should be.

Mary, Renko, Kourin, Kosuzu... Not to mention that Youmu and Sanae's claim to human status is shaky

Sanae is totally human. Just also a god. And the others are not in games.

Incident Resolvers up the exact same can of worms we were trying to avoid, unless we add more arbitrary rules like "more than once". And then the fighting game incidents come to haunt us, etc etc.

Ehhh... I have responses to those points, but these kinds of semantic debates are what I wanted to avoid

A couple questions, though:

Could the issue be resolved by moving Reimu and Marisa to the top of the PC-98 page?

Does anyone here consider the group of "heroines" to be larger than Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, Youmu, and Sanae?

I'd consider Sakuya a heroine in the sense that she's been involved in more than half of the incidents, either as an opponent or as a playable character. Despite her early exposure, it seems Sanae's going to drop off from being a playable character and Youmu's return was likely a one-time thing because of the plot in question.

Gah, sadly have to leave now for family reasons To reiterate my point/"vote" :

- Extra "Main Characters" page on the Characters Index.

- Only Reimu and Marisa there.

- However, if inclusion of other Incident Solvers unavoidable, it is still preferable to the current situation.

Sanae being gone for one game means she's being written out? Yeesh. Although I guess there was also that conversation in WaHH.

Personally I'm not comfortable with Reimu and Marisa being on the PC-98 page because I forget to check it. I don't think my own personal issues are quite as relevant as the new-user experience though, so I'm not sure that means anything. I think it's possible that someone unfamiliar with Touhou might have been warned that PC-98 characters no longer show up and that they would therefore decide to skip the page entirely, but I have no idea how likely that is.

Well she's been gone for three games as a playable characters. HM, DDC, and ISC, though I can at least excuse that last one because it's meant to be Seija only.

Fighting games 100% do not count for this and now I have to knife fight you. Why'd you go and do that?

Also, Sakuya was gone for 4 games in a row by your own logic.

Eh, I wouldn't count Sakuya as being in 'Soku for this kind of purpose. She's only playable if you connect it with SWR. Which'd bring the count up to 7 missed games in a row

For the 'main characters' or 'playable characters' or whatever just specify that they had to be playable in X number whole number games. That should limit it down to where you want it to be, right?

Meanwhile, I just realised that tengu technology can totally take pictures of vampires. Huh.

I don't think touhou vampires have the no reflection thing going on.
