South Park was my favorite show at age seventeen because of how it spoke to my rebellious spirit at the time. While I stopped liking it as much in Season 18 after seeing the episodes "Go Fund Yourself", "#REHASH," and "#Happy Holograms" due to feeling like they were presenting messages that promoted political correctness and were against the soul of the show (and even led me to temporarily believe a Fan Dumb conspiracy theory that the influence of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report was making all of Comedy Central's shows use "humor" to promote far-left messages and alienating the general comedy audience), they managed to win me back with Season 19, which made its main villain a literal personification of the kinds of people I thought Comedy Central was trying to please at the cost of pleasing everyone else... at least until the season finale, which was confusing at best and infuriating at worst. While not my favorite show like it used to be, I still owe a lot to it, such as Trey and Matt influencing my sense of humor and some of my views of the world and giving me a relatable character to watch on TV in 11th grade in the form of Butters.

It can't be helped.

Am I the only person who sometimes gets confused as to what message I take from the show?

I now I'm not, but I want validation.

TV Tropes is my #Safe Space.

Well Matt & trey have admitted that sometimes there is no "message" to an episode, it's just wackiness & fun for wackiness' sake. Which can make it even more confusing sometimes whether the episode is supposed to have a message to it or if it is just telling a story. (Like Cock Magic is, I'm pretty sure, just for fun.)

Now here lately we've actually got ARCS! Which just adds to the confusion because now you've got message shows, fun shows, and arc shows.

I'm not sure what they meant the end of last season either, but I think we'll know once we see the beginning of the next. If it continues with the arc of the previous, then we can say it was all a set up for the next punchline.

Or maybe it's just saying that ads are our real enemy.

One of my many, many thoughts on Safe Space is that advocates of such spaces have their heart in the right places, but don't realise the implications of their actions. They point out that celebrities that respond to body shaming by sharing images of their superior physiques, decrying body shaming are inadvertently shaming those who don't have those body types. At the end, when Reality tells them Butters' suffering, they all instantly regret their actions in one of the most heartwarming moments of the show and may have made a positive change were it not for Randy's insistence on finding the easy way out.

Basically, PC people aren't evil, they want to make the world better, but they make mistakes like anyone. They are, after all, human.

Unlike ads. Fuck ads.

This past season is all a set up for the longest & rudest, "you know what is the difference between an ad and a woman?" joke.

So I managed to binge watch episodes 5-10 of this season.

Man, shit got real when it got real, didn't it? surprised

Seriously thought Leslie was a benevolent ad and PC Principal was the real Big Bad. Also apparently ads are aliens or droids now? Yikes. Also also, PC Principal was Human all along?

So, I guess what happens next season is anyone's guess, eh? Someone suggested that we would see what "war" Nathan was talking about in a future season, one where it's an election year. Guys, what if it's this year that we'll see the "war" and shit will hit the fan?

wild mass guess What if this talk about a war is build-up for a new South Park movie? wild mass guess

And hey, when watching "Safe Space", did anyone think it was hard seeing Randy get harassed in the Whole Foods for not donating to hungry orphans?

So how do you think their going to cover the election. Trey and Matt try their best not to beat you over the head with their political views, though believe me they fail from time to time, but I have difficulty believing they could resist giving a nod to the most popular Libertarian party candidate in years. And of course their's Mr Garrison. Oh and Hillary's running again so they could do some more Snuke stuff.....yay

I wonder if the new season will tie into the fractured but whole. I thought it might not at first because it was supposed to be the day after Stick of Truth, but the new trailer showed PC Principal so I guess it's current after all

I'm a bit curious, will there be an episode titled "Stanley's Revenge: Stanley's Cup Part II", where Stan wants a rematch with the Detroit Red Wings after the twist ending of "Stanley's Cup" (which I kind of hated at first, but the more I watch it, the funnier it seemed to get)? I'm saying this, because they might honor the episode's 10th anniversary. And this time, the PC Principal helps out Stan and his peewee hockey team. That would be cool, though kind of unlikely. There should be another twist ending, where Stan gets his bike back after winning, but has to pay a ridiculous bill for all the damage done in the hockey matches, or something like that. Or, maybe have the peewee hockey team lose again, like last time.

I'm more interested in how the new video game messes with the schedule this time. The trailer was classic South Park.

Well the new season has started and much like Trump, Garrison is a giant douche who no matter what he does, people seem to love him.

South Park starts off with a...cap-gun shot. Don't get me wrong it was okay for a start to an over-arching plot, but as a stand-alone ep its kinda weak. I'm really hoping they'll balance it out more properly than last season.

This story arc looks like it's going to be more complicated than the last one, hopefully.
