I checked the link again. For me it goes straight to Feed the Animals. All you have to do is click "Add to Shopping Cart", then "Continue Checkout" and you'll have a link to the mp3 files. (that doesn't work, it's product 117). Make sure you get the one with the house and the fire in the album art.

Video Game Census. Please contribute.I listened to Theory of Machines, and it was pretty good. I'm not usually into the whole drone/static sound, but it was used to good effect here.
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat! All I have to say as far as drone is LOL SUNN O))) LOL STARS OF THE LID.
But damnnnnn, Ben Frost is on another plane. So damn good.
Anyway, I'm listening to Feed The Animals. I'm generally not a fan of mashups, and so far this album isn't changing my mind (not that it's bad, just not good)
http://www.last.fm/user/BlueGhost60I really liked the first track on that Ben Frost album. None of the other tracks did anything for me, however. Not knocking Ben Frost, just not normally a fan of drones as a genre.
Listening to Feed the Animals just made me wish I was listening to one of the bands being sampled instead.

I actually really like Feed The Animals. Huh. It's very charming, in a weird way.
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityI didn't like the rapping. And without the rapping the songs are just fragments of thousands of different better songs all smashed together.
I can agree with that. I think this is more of a Guilty Pleasure than anything.
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityTo each his own, I suppose.
The Girltalk album we're looking for is the one with the house on the cover right?
I think I've heard this album before, actually, it's hard to keep GT's discography straight.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I indeed have heard this album before (though I didn't own it until just now).
I must say, that despite all the flak he gets from various circles, I really like Girltalk. I'd argue that one has a better appreciation for his music if you know how hard it is to make, but anyway, I think he generally makes music that is significantly better than the sum of its parts, and for that, I think he gets a good grade. It's also worth noting that despite being billed as a mashup, Girltalk's stuff is really more of a recorded DJ set, when you think about it.
8/10
Also, the first track (providing I dl'd the right album) samples a little song called "Blowjob Betty" by one Too $hort, this is the man that all of you who hate Crunk can thank for starting that genre.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I don't mind samples, but he could at least try to be subtle about it.
IE DJ Shadow, who is amazing.
That's not really the point.
I mean, for DJ Shadow it's the point. But not for Girltalk, the point of Girltalk's music is for it to be played in a club, no point in being subtle with your sampling at that point.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....How does where it's meant to be played excuse its unoriginality?
After being a composition major and hearing all kinds of music from many different genres, and reading all kinds of literature about what music means and how it should be made, interpreted, and enjoyed, I have reached the opinion that music should never be subtle, understated, or opaque in its presentation or execution. That doesn't mean you can't have little moments that go unnoticed in the first or second listen, but when you make a statement, it needs to be strong.
Video Game Census. Please contribute.I don't agree with you.
Zudak: "Unoriginality"?
Now you're just trying too much.
It's not any less original than any other sample-based work. Have you ever compared 'Organ Donor' to "Tears"?
arks: Were I you, I'd not let any studying dictate what you think about music.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Who said my studying dictated that?
Video Game Census. Please contribute.^^The point he was making was that he's listened to a lot of music and put a lot of thought into his decision.
I respect that. I still think it's a matter of taste, though.
arks: I thought you were implying such, apologies if I'm wrong.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....It's Monday night, which means it's time for another album. The next album will be chosen on Thursday night or Friday morning.
Random Number Generator says "4", which is Billy Talent's self titled album. Black Humor posted a youtube link that may or may not be a playlist of the album and a Grooveshark link, which I can't link to because I can't access the site. If you have any better links, please post them.
Three albums left, which means it's probably time to start deciding what your album for the next rotation will be. Don't post it yet, but have an idea in your mind. I have mine.

Video Game Census. Please contribute.Hey, I would like to join this with the album: Local Broadcast by Zagar.
EDIT: Also, I think everyone should do a track-by-track analysis on every album they listened to. At least I like reading those...

I don't see Feed the Animals on that site. Pretty much every other Girltalk album. But not that one.
Found a Steinski album though, so 'scool.
