@Omega: I'm a bit surprised you've decided to post, considering you briefly played in this session for about three or four posts and then just left. Either way, you are not capable of pulling fourth wall shenanigans in this game, as it has quite a bit of continuity. You will not be able to pull said shenanigans until you are capable of doing so within the bounds and limitations of the Savral verse. Unless you feel like rejoining this game, you'll have to wait until someone who wants to host a freeform game does so. I do not anticipate that happening for a while, as I intend to continue this game until it reaches its final endgame state or I lose the will to continue this. Let me reiterate what I have posted in most of the turn posts. If you want to rejoin this game, pick a race and a class of a fantasy Dn D variety and I'll set you up in the game world. You technically already have a character set up, but I'd recommend starting fresh.

@Cathari: Very well, then. I'm hesitant to join a full game, though, because Roleplays and I seem to not stick together very well. Remember that one time I tried to make an RP, Eldritch Defense?

@Omega: I somehow remember that. Also, people do leave this, so it's just a normal occurrence. Considering my post rate, the pace at the moment is kinda slow. Plus, I do have stuff built in universe for what happens when players leave for whatever reason. Joining is kinda up to you, and you can jump back in if you're gone for a while.

oh god why does the boss follow me around through teleportation fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

Well, time to engage in that most practiced of skills, lying my arse off. Or rather, saying things that are technically true, given that I really didn't know something like this could exist until mere moments ago. Fucking shit, I probably should've guessed this might happen, urgh, fucking, okay just get to explaining.

"Well, long story short, no, I don't know anything about "this", presuming you mean the giant monstrosity there, other than it can apparently teleport and fire green lasers and maybe summon giant emeralds out of nowhere?"

All of which are skills it just exhibited, so nothing they didn't already know. Now, I'd teleport away again, but chances are it'll just keep following me until everything is dead, which means I probably have to kill it, much as I'd rather just run away... and it seems like I have a potential source of allies to draw from to help me with that, so, without further ado...

"But, given that that city is almost certainly fucked unless somebody deals with that thing in short order, do any of you perchance want to help me kill the giant monster? Or is that beyond your purview of reality or some bullshit like that?"

I was once a boy... but now, I am a man. Or at least old enough to know better, anyway.

Roll To Dodge: Savral Turn 115

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Considering how long this RTD has gone on for, it's getting to the point where it's difficult to keep track of what your character has already seen/known, even if you look back at previous posts. If anyone needs clarifications on their character's surroundings/what they already know, or if anyone needs lore clarifications, feel free to ask with spoiler text or via PM. Also, if you're a returning player who hasn't played for a while in this session, I'll need to reintroduce you to your surroundings, as you might not necessarily be in the same spot as when you last played.

Everyone: Remember how I said last post or so that my posting rate would be slower this week? I’m probably not going to get my next post up until midway next week, as I kinda have to get other stuff out of the way.

Jondanger 23 (6): You raise your pan flute to your mouth, take a deep breath in, and start using the instrument in an attempt to freeze the horses. You spin around while playing your flute and a stream of whitish-blue energy blows out from the flute and covers the horses. You feel some of the cold flowing back toward you, but it doesn’t seem to affect you. The grass beneath you starts to freeze as well. Shortly after, all of the horses become encased in ice. It seems now that they’re frozen solid, they should no longer be able to bother you.

You then hear voices coming from within the ice,    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"

"What’s wrong Johny-boy? Not into a little bit of horseplay?"

"Did you really think something like that would stop a couple of unicorns like us? Puh-lease! Why do you think anything cooked up by some half-rate mage would have any effect on us?"

"You know what’s more humiliating than being beaten by a bunch of mindless horses? Getting owned by a bunch of snowmen! Those things can’t even move!"

   "Yeah! Lets do it!"

The horses’ skin disappears and their blood starts forming veins in the ice. After a few seconds, cracks start to form, and the ice transforms into a snowy mound, hiding the horses from view. Clouds start to form up overhead, and you see snow descend as well. After some time, the snowy mounds form up into a set of three, massive snow golems at least three times your height. A series of charcoal stones along with a carrot emerges on the head structure of each of the snowy monstrosities. The smile formed by the coals transforms into a great, smiling mouth filled with teeth, and a unicorn horn emerges on the golems’ foreheads. Three Abominable Snowmen have appeared.

Mathleticism (2): You think about pulling energy together to form a mechanical speaker in your left hand. The blonde woman takes her scapel and jams it into said hand almost a second after you have the thought. You start crying from the pain and scream aloud. When she pulls her arm back, another one appears out of thin air.

She says, "Mathy-poo, what makes you think you’re fucked? You don’t trust Miss Cathy here to keep you alive? I’m a good and just goddess, not to mention I’m the cutest~! Besides, you don’t need to use the white. Can’t you see I’m right here, sweetie?"

She leans in and starts licking your face. She takes the scapel, makes a little cut into your cheek, and then starts licking the blood.

Out of the corner of your vision, you see the orc from before come into your room, wearing a bloody cloth apron.

He says, "What? You! What…"

Cathy takes her left hand off your face and snaps her fingers. Almost immediately, the orc’s head explodes into a bloody pulp. Shortly after, his corpse collapses onto the floor.

Cathy resumes, "Well, now that that’s out of the way. You can make this much easier on yourself if you agree to be my manslave. Don’t worry, I’m a good master, so there’s no way anything bad is going to happen to you…    KYAHAHAHAHA!!! EYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Junpei (2): You try summoning up a kobold servant after replying to the sergeant. A few seconds into the ritual, you suddenly have a massively splitting headache, and you sit back onto the ground. You may need to rest for a little bit before trying to summon something again, especially something of the same species.
Cyberse (1): You lean in preparation to sneak in closer. Then, you feel something bite your right ear off, and collapse to the ground and scream in pain. It then bites your left ear off. As you roll around on the floor, you see a unicorn standing above you, chewing on your ears.

After swallowing, it shouts, "HEY EVERYONE, WE’VE GOT SOME FINE, FRESH HUMAN MEAT OVER HERE!!! COME GET IT WHILE IT’S HOT!!!"

You then hear a number of footsteps start rushing toward your position. You manage to get back up, but you’re a bit too late. About five elves come around the corner, knives and short-swords out, and turn to face you. You still hear footsteps coming. Seeing that the unicorn has stretched itself out so that’s blocking the route behind you, you can’t really escape.

BC The Entity (6); Furby Thing (5, 4): You speak with the paladin and try convincing her to help you bring down the giant Furby thing.

She says, "I’d be more than glad to kill whatever the hell that thing is. Can’t really take over a city if there’s nothin’ left of it."

A voice speaks up amidst the ranks, "You hear that? Boss says we’ve got to take that motherfucker down! EVERYBODY CHARGE!!!"

"Great…"

You then see all of the unicorn riders charge from the ranks and gallop towards the city. A few stragglers try following up from behind them, but the unicorns are too fast. You notice the riders try to shift around a bit, struggling to lift up their legs. It seems they don’t have complete control over their mounts. A few of them try crying out for help. You also see one of the wagons dash along this haphazard formation. It is now being pulled by one of the unicorns.

You then hear the furby-thing speak with its Barney-like voice,    "I’m firing my laser!"

It opens its beak and fires an emerald beam at the charging soldiers, from left to right. When the beam hits, each of the soldiers transform into an emerald sculpture of themselves while the surrounding grass gets set on fire. When the beam contacts the wagon, the wagon explodes, shattering almost all of the emerald sculptures except for those belonging to the unicorns.

As this happens, the swarm emerging from the giant emerald descends upon the city. You then see the swarm shoot a multicolored blizzard of magical bolts. You hear more panicked screaming, and some of the arrows fly through the swarm. At this point, you see a few magic missiles and elemental bolts fire from below. Many citizens from the city are now pouring out the gates, trying to flee to safety.

You then see an octarine portal open up over the battalion, and a tetrahedral ruby crystal emerges from it. The tetrahedron itself seems to be the size of a house. As it descends, six wire-like tentacles made out of segmented ruby crystals start to grow out from the center of the bottom three faces and the top three points. The ones growing out of the faces become roughly twice as long as those emerging from the points, and reach down to the ground to form the ruby’s legs. The other three tentacles start to form arms and develop three-fingered claws at their ends. The thing’s body stands roughly fifty yards above you. Its arms then point at the soldiers below. Reddish beams then shoot out from the center of the claws and fry some of the soldiers below.

As this was happening, the paladin had pulled out her sword and shield and then stepped in front of you to get closer to the tripod. She speaks to you, "Don’t just stand there, do something!"

You hear her make a brief incantation, and she starts floating in the air. She makes another incantation, and her shield starts glowing an orange hue. In the meantime, some of the soldiers try firing at the ruby tripod while others panic. A few others go over to the wagons and try to get the oxen to move.

Undying Phoenix (1): You try to blast the rubble off with an explosion, unfortunately, you can do nothing more than conjure up a bit of flame, which burns up any breathable air left under the great pile of rubble as the fire burns through your skin.    You died.    Respawn?
Philosopher (4): The captain says, "We’ve got a team of exorcists with us who also know a few banishing spells. Oh, and we’ve got a couple of potions."

He reaches into a knapsack, pulls out a sealed glass flask with a turquoise liquid, and hands it to you. You have acquired a potion of calm. Using it is a free action.

"I’m not really sure how it works, but the exorcists say that unicorns will go away after you drink this stuff, and it’ll keep you from being possessed. It doesn’t really do much ‘cept suck all the energy out of you."

You then point in the general direction that the bandits were headed.

"Alright. Boys, let’s move!"

He begins running in the general direction that you pointed alongside the two other soldiers. You also see four more soldiers come around the trees and head that way as well. Following that, two ox driven wagons follow in their stead. The wagons themselves have a sort of thick layer of mud going over the outer surface, along with three windows on each side. You see more soldiers, along with a few mages in white robes in these carts. After acquiring your guns, you follow along with them.

Eventually, the trees clear out into a shoreline. Far out in the distance ahead, you see another shoreline running roughly parallel to the beachhead you’re on. Out in the sea, you see many galleys, coracles, and a small rowboat heading to the other shore. There seem to be a number of wrecked boats along the beach. Toward your left, you see a small wooden shack along with a little dock running out into the sea. You see an old man standing on the edge of said dock. A number of gulls line the shore, and you see a crab or two wandering about.

The captain says, "Alright, let’s search the area." He turns to you, "You there, any idea where they went?"

Oh dear fucking hell this is the worst thing in existence. Okay, let's see, now... I'm already hovering, so let's try casting some giant-ass slowness and/or paralysis spell over all the giant monsters, and the swarm of flying bug things over the city. I attempt to do that, trying to avoid hitting my allies of the moment or anyone in the city in the process, since, as much as I don't really give a damn about them, I'd rather they not die for no reason just because they couldn't escape from the giant monsters quickly.

@Everyone: Hello everyone, this is just a brief thing to let you know I'm still alive. Sorry that I haven't been able to update everyone's turn posts yet. I kinda decided to enter some writing contest for a group that I'm in at school. It literally sucked up all of my freetime over the spring break. Also I had a project for one of my classes to finish up. I'm going to try getting everyone's posts written up within 2 or 3 days or so. Also, I'm probably going to buff up any bad rolls since you all had to wait so long.

@Too Many Ideas: I don't know if you're necessarily going to see this, seeing as I didn't respond right away. Anyway, since my session is going on in this thread for now, it would probably be best for you to make another thread, title it something else, and copy down the rules of the roll to dodge system. There's been a ton of choose your own adventure type things, so I don't think you'll have too much trouble trying to start a separate thread for your own RTD. You could also wait until I decide to abandon this session, but I'm not sure when such a thing would happen. There's also the roleplay sections of the forums, but then you'd need formal signups, whereas these types of games can have anyone join.

Roll To Dodge: Savral Turn 116

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Undying Phoenix (Free): You are still a phoenix pyromancer. Since you died in a relatively short time, I don’t particularly feel like going over what exactly that entails.

You find yourself in what appears to be a vast tropical rainforest, only you see a great, glowing circle sitting up in the sky, radiating a strange anti-octarine hue. From your right, you see the sun shining high above against a reddish sky, though the light from the circle looks as though it is cutting through reality itself. A number of humanoid figures stand around the center, with a symbol above them. You recognize several of the figures from Earthen religions, but there are many more that you do not recognize. A great cross runs through the whole thing, with an emblem of a crescent over a sun symbol sitting right on the middle. As you look around, you see a few orcs and other animals slowly making their way toward the center of this massive circle. They don’t seem to notice you, as they seem to be in some sort of trance. Additionally, you see a village hiding in the forest toward your right.

Jondanger 23 (1   3+1 -> 4   ); Abominable Snowmen (5,4,1): You crouch down on your Satyr legs, leap onto the head of one of the snowmen, rip out its carrot nose, and begin stabbing it. Blackish blood starts spilling out of it. Furthermore, the snowman now starts swinging around wildly. The other two snowmen start to come forth, but one of them gets its head knocked off. Said snowman turns around walks back and remounts its head. The other snowman reaches over and rips you off. It then opens up its mouth and bites your legs off. Luckily, you manage to free yourself from its grasp before it can eat the rest of you. You hear it munching on your bones as it stands in place.
BC The Entity ( 3,4); Furby Thing (3,3): Before you can do anything, Cathy appears a few feet in front of you and says, "Oh, by the way, I’m cheating on you with Mathy-poo. And I’ve made him into a Man-Witch instead of a manslave, cause he’s better than you. Okay, gonna go. Bye, BC!    KYAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

After that little diversion, you try casting a slowness spell on the giant tripod first. Once this happens, you now notice that its limbs are now moving at roughly half their normal swiftness. The three arms turn to face the paladin as the rest of the soldiers continue shooting at the thing’s center with arrows and magic bolts. Those wielding axes and other melee-only fighters close in on the legs now that the tripod is moving at half its speed and can no longer react as quickly. It manages to fire two red laser beams at the paladin, but a large honeycomb barrier materializes in front of her shield, absorbing both of the blasts.

After this, she raises her sword up, shouts some phrase in a language you don’t recognize, and then point her sword right at the tripod. You see a faint, golden beacon rise out from the ground underneath the tripod, and shoot up into the sky. You hear all of the soldiers shout the phrase in unison, with some of them raising their fists as well, before continuing with their assault. Now the projectiles seem to be glowing orange as they fly through the air, and once they land, they create small explosions which begin shattering the ruby chassis. After a few seconds, two of the legs have been completely destroyed, and the rest of the thing’s body starts slowly descending to the ground. However, a small pyramid starts rising out from the top of the main body.

After this happens, you begin floating your way over to the city to deal with the swarms. As you start to go overhead, you see many of the citizens running in panic, and most of the buildings on fire. The center of the city seems to have a few large estates while the rest of the city seems to have a large collection of shops, inns, and urban housing, most of which is on fire. The city militia along with a few mages seem to be trying to fight back against the swarm. Though they seem to be taking a number of casualties, you do see a number of small figures fall onto the ground.

You hear the furby thing say,    "You hurt my friends. That’s not very nice."

It fires another emerald beam at your new allies. About five of the axemen near the tripod crystalize into emerald.

Now that you’ve just neared the city walls, you can now see the individual members of the swarm. They all seem to be fairies, with each of them wearing green togas and golden circlets. They also seem to be holding wands. Now that you have the element of surprise, you take this opportunity to cast another slowing spell on their numbers. The bulk of the forces nearest you now seem to be moving at roughly 33% speed. About a fifth of the remaining forces turn to your general direction, begin lifting their wands, and start lobbing spellcraft at you. You watch as the wall of magical bolts slowly advances in your general direction.

Cyberse (6): You turn around, face the unicorn, and yell at it. The unicorn says, "What’s there to tell? They both taste exactly the same. Besides, you should really watch your back more.    KYAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

You feel several of the elves behind you grab hold of your arms and legs. One of them pulls up a sword up to your neck.

One of the elves says, "PRAISE BE TO CATHARI SARAD!" The sword slides itself into your neck.    You died.    Respawn?

Junpei (1   3   ): The two of you start heading past the farmlands and toward the main town. When you get up to the gates, you see two kobold spearmen guards long each side. They salute Mufasa.

The one to the right says, "Who and what is that thing?"

The one to the left says, "You fetch this one off the front?"

Sergeant Mufasa says, "That’s not quite the situation here. Servant, would you care to explain things yourself?"

Philosopher (3): You walk up to the old man on the docks, with the many guards searching around behind you. Once you start stepping on the dock, he turns around and faces you while pointing to the small rowboat in the distance.

Before you can say anything, he says, "Ey you! Them two thievin’ lowlifes darn took me boat! Me old Jessica is my property an’ I’ve spent eight-hundred-fifteen years with ‘er. Could ye git-er back fer me will ya?"

Mathleticism (5): Cathy says, "Silly Mathy-poo, there’s no need for something like a fourth wall when you’ve got someone as cute as me. And really, you don’t have a choice. But, I’m in a good mood today, so I’ll let you go off easy this time. But don’t worry, honey-bun, there’s always room for more fun later." She winks at you, then closes her eyes and starts giggling.    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

She then leans in, slides her hand along your chin, and then forces her tongue in your mouth for a kiss. Her kiss tastes like apples. Once she’s done, she snaps her fingers, and you recover from all your injuries. You are now a Man-Witch. You’re still effectively the same class as before, but now you get Cathy’s pact and other stuff. Also, you’re better than a Manslave.

"Okay, now you get to check out your cool new place."

She snaps her fingers once again. You now find yourself in what appears to be a large, expansive stone building. The bed seems to sit right behind you, and you see a little book sitting on it titled, “Cathy’s Tips for New Witches.” You see a number of torches lining the walls. The side walls seem to be about a hundred feet away from you on each side, and the door is probably about a tenth of a mile away from you. You also see a number of chests sitting along the left side of the door. When you look up, all you see is darkness, with no sign of the ceiling in sight.

BRaHiAn1 (6): Seeing as you want to report back to Tessa. All of a sudden, you feel someone grab your left arm. It is Louise, except her skin now looks like it’s made out of grayish, rotting wood for some reason. You see her massive scythe poking out from underneath her robes.

She says, "Hiya Brah! Remember me? It’s me, Louise! You’ve been gone for a while, so I’m just going to get you back on track of things! Don’t worry, I’m not going to eat you, yet…    KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Louise swiftly spins her scythe through the air, briefly revealing her many rotting, wooden arms, and it is now near noon, with the sun rising behind you.

"Why don’t you have a look?"

When you turn to face Al-Osam, All of the previous ruins seem to have been leveled out, and you see many iron golems moving about, carrying stones, wood, and other materials around. The center is now walled off by a set of palisades surrounding what appears to be an expansive workshop filled with various utilities, with many golems at work. Off to the north of this area, you see a large area, where the golems are collecting a large number of wooden totem-like structures. Towards the east end of the leveled city of Al-Osam, you see what appears to be the beginning of some sort of airship. In various locations, you see large, glowing, spherical constructs, which seem to be humming loud enough for you to hear.

Near the edges of the fallen city, you see several orangish-red flags with a large white circle in the middle. Inside of that, you see two black silhouettes of golems, each with one leg standing on an anvil in the center, holding up what appears to be an enlarged depiction of a carbon atom. You also see large black lettering circling around just outside the center circle.

As you look around you see many golems going out into the forest to cut down wood and bring it back to the city. Many others, including a number of wooden golems shaped like the totems from before, seem to be working on building a road heading back to Tal-Sajjuk while expanding it in other directions. You also see about four large, elaborate rod-like structures lying near the ground, which seem to be connected to four of the large spherical things.

Farther out, you see about five large plumes of smoke rising out from various directions, including from Al-Osam. Near one of those smoke plumes, you see a large emerald floating in the sky, alongside about four airships. You see a large number of lightning blasts strike the emerald from the ground, though they don’t seem to have too much effect.

Louise says, "See Brah? Just look at how much has happened while you were gone! Oh by the way, I hope you know how to dodge!    KYAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

At about this moment, you hear something akin to a war horn or a war siren boom out from the complex built atop of Al-Osam. Many of the golems on the ground pull out crossbows from their backs. Others begin working with a frenzied pace. Several run up to the four rods, dislodge them from some sort of frame, and then point them at you. Said rods start glowing a purplish hue.
