I conclude that anomality of travel-when-thinking-about-it depends on the speed of the travelling (and maybe direction), so when moving into the future at the rate of 1 second per second, thinking too hard about it does not cause any problems.

Well, the 3DS already has a built in pedometer, and I think is supposed to give you stuff for one of the Mii games depending on how far you walk. As long as this is also in the 2DS, it would be a viable option for the next pokemon games.
Though if it's a Pokewalker thing you can just shake it a lot instead of walking.
