Yeah, a revenge plot isn't quite so cathartic when the protagonist is taking revenge on the people who stopped his genocidal rampages.

I've never played God of War at all, ever, and have 0 desire to do so and am not a fan of Kratos as a character. The canon, video game Kratos, that is.
Colesquid Kratos, on the other hand, I love and am glad she keeps finding ways to use him in her comic.

That's actually a recurring scene in the franchise, and one of my favorite talking points on the topic of "Despite the misguided fandom, you're not supposed to like Kratos." Every God of War game features a point in the game where you have to murder an innocent person as he begs and pleads for his life in order to progress.
I mean, the guy's Establishing Character Moment features him slaying a hydra, then murdering a Ship Captain in cold blood for no reason. That's Kratos in a nutshell.
Since that was apparently too subtle for the fans who thought Kratos was the awesomest manly guy of awesomeness, God of War II ramped it up by introducing a mechanic that encourages players to literally dropkick puppies.

I couldn't even get that far - all of the parts of the game that involve Kratos walking on thin balance beams got to me. I'm sorry, I thought this was God of War, not God of Acrobats.
Consequently, that's the one thing I always find missing from this comic's version of Kratos - his apparent willingness to engage in circus performances at the drop of a hat.

Given the Zelda series history of Link doing weird things with his items and having it work, I'm not so sure that Ganondorf could pick just one moment with Link as the weirdest. I mean, at this point, I deliberately pull out something inappropriate in major confrontations, just to see if it'll help against the major bosses (for example, yes, I did pull out the bug-catching net against Yuga in A Link Between Worlds, and yes, it does work... that said, due to the wonky relationship Yuga and Ganondorf have, I don't know if Big G would know about that incident).
