I'd hardly call questioning the drop in content for the thing people pay for Fan Dumb.

Have you actually seen their responses?

I do think some of the responses are trolling and Fan Dumb (judging by the comments on the video you linked) - I mean Bennett the Sage takes 2 months off every year (Separately) and so does SF Debris who also takes weeks off and doesn't produce anything during that time, both have Patreons, and no one complains. Furthermore, he announced it, if you don't want to pay for the other content, end your patronage. You can end it at any time. Plenty of youtubers take vacations and it doesn't raise a riot.

THAT SAID...

I think Joe's being a bit willfully blind. Yeah, he's putting out a lot of other content, and if that other content fails to satiate his fans THAT much, he probably needs to take a long look at it and at himself.

So a guy who has gotten mad in the past and told people to not pre-order games is mad people aren't pre-ordering a game.

Oh you misunderstand. He was lashing out at people who were celebrating the low preorders who blamed it on "SJ Ws". I was actually surprised since he tends to play it safe.

The low pre order sales numbers are worth celebrating though. The less money EA makes the happier I am

You are missing the point. The issue is not that people are celebrating low pre orders. It is that people are blaming "SJW" for it, which is ridiculous.

Idiotic and toxic gamers will blame SJ Ws for anything, its pretty much an go-to scapegoat/boogeyman for the nastier parts of the gaming community.

EA won't be the ones suffering for this, DICE will whose only crime is being stuck under EA's thumb.

What Joe is made about is the fact that people are celebrating the lower pre-orders because they see it as "proof" that "SJ Ws" ruin everything — they are so virulently bigoted that they can't imagine the game's pre-orders being lower for any reason besides the inclusion of women in it.

And while Joe acknowledges that there are indeed assholes who would refuse to pre-order a game that doesn't pander to their prejudices, he thinks the lousy marketing campaign, the piss poor timing of the release, and people still being angry with EA over the Star Wars Battlefront II bullshit had more to do with it.

Basically this. There's also the problem that these gamers think them and people like them are the only ones who buy games even though with stuff like this they're often dwarfed by casual gamers which reinforces Joe's points.
