And now we've gone down the rabbit hole.
On your left, you can see the last piece of my sanity drinking tea and contemplating the end...
The implication was that Buzz Lightyears (and their line, if Zurg is any indication) think they're real because of all the electronics and stuff in them. Like, they have so much programming that they're convinced their backstories are true.
From the footage, Sora looks like a regular wooden doll, so...don't see that being an issue at all.
Speaking of Zurg, who's up for a fight against him?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'd be hyped as shit for a Heartless Zurg boss fight.
Presumably a darkness-powered Zurg? Yeah, I'd be up for that.
...I do wonder, though, what sort of abilities Buzz and Woody will have, especially Buzz. His most obvious weapon, his laser, is just a lightbulb, after all. Perhaps some sort of Keyblade-granted power-up? Alternatively, it is technically light...

Oh God! Natural light!"I know now, without a doubt...
"Kingdom Hearts...
"IS BUZZ'S LIGHTBULB!"
Buzz was doing some kind of spinny move in the trailer, so they might just be doing some toy martial art shenanigans. Ol' Space Ranger does have that karate chop action.
x2 The most interesting part of that interview is the fact that Disney has considered making a Kingdom Hearts movie.
I think Bonus Bosses are a given. The question is who the bosses will be.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Aside from previous bosses in the KH series...maybe a character from a recent movie doesn't have time to be represented with a world? Like maybe Tamatoa?
Really late to this but, the Toy Story world might be the single most impressive thing SE has done with KH on a technical and artistic level. Like, it's uncanny how good the Toy Story characters look. They've always been really good at capturing the general aesthetic and expressions of the Disney characters but never to a level that reaches the quality of the movies, like here. I'm not surprised that the Toy Story team was impressed with them.
Also, it doesn't necessarily guarantee anything but I'm happy that Nomura met with Lasseter to talk about his plans for the Toy Story world. Honestly, I think they should do that sort of thing more often if the schedule allows it.
Well, let's see what the track record for Bonus Bosses is:
- Kingdom Hearts: Kurt Zisa (Heartless), Phantom (Heartless), Xemnas (Main villain of next game), Ice Titan (Disney), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy)
- Chain of Memories: N/A
- Kingdom Hearts II: Organization XIII Data (Villains of present game), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy), Terra (Major character of upcoming game)
- 358/2 Days: Dustflier (Heartless)
- Birth by Sleep: Monstro (Disney), Vanitas Remnant (Villain of present game), Armor of the Master (Character of present game), No Heart (Villain of present game), Young Xehanort (Villain of upcoming game), Various Mirage Arena Unversed
- Re:Coded: Bugged Data Roxas (Character of present game), Bugged Data Riku (Character of present game)
- Dream Drop Distance: Julius (Disney)
- X: ???
Based off of the patterns, chances are that it'll be a big Heartless, some kind of upgraded form of a character in the game, or a villain from an upcoming arc.
I guess Disney is still a possibility, though.

They should have another surprise boss like Julius. I was very pleased to hear about him being in 3D.
x2 You forgot that I also has Ice Titan, while BBS has the Mirage Arena Unversed and Vanitas Remnant.
Darth Vader or riot.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I think Nomura probably wants to include him, honestly. SE is full of huge SW fans, I think it's probably just legal reasons (I believe theEA deal kind of puts a damper on what SE could do with the franchise).
I would have thought it's been so long since Sephy was beat in II that having him back wouldn't be terrible.
I wonder if his and Cloud's subplot would be resolved and Sephy would be Killed Off for Real.
I do think Nomura's comments on Sephy were amusing.
Eh, I've never been a fan of how Seph and Cloud have been depicted in KH so I wouldn't mind Seph taking a break. I think the ambiguous nature of what happened at the end of their confrontation in 2 actually works fine as an ending to that subplot, even though arguably the ambiguous everything else regarding their rivalry in KH really didn't help it any.
I think Nomura is actually a Star Wars fanboy himself. I wish the EA exclusivity deal wasn't a thing, because Star Wars could fill out a Kingdom Hearts game all by itself or make for good DLC.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Well if he isn't he could have fooled me. It was kind of easy to tell even back in KH 1 FM with the Xemnas boss fight and since then it's only become more and more apparent.
I guess Zurg is the closest we'll get lol
Cloud and Sephiroth have fought so many times now that I'm honestly tired of it. Cloud beat him up as a kid, even if it was him stabbing him from behind. And then he beat him twice more as an adult. And that's just in the context of the VII universe.
Do we ever get a reason for Cloud to be chasing Sepiroth in the Kingdom Hearts universe?
Or is it just a matter of interpretation and one could easily imagine it being a case of Sepiroth owing Cloud thirty bucks?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Nope. That's part of the problem, the rivalry within KH has no context. I played VII not too long ago and in that game you actually understand why Cloud hates Sephiroth so much and why their relationship has so much weight to it because of what it says about both of them.
In KH though we don't have any of that. In KH 2 all we get are meaningless buzzwords and generic dialogue from Sephiroth about how Cloud can't run away from his darkness/past/whatever, and it's really hokey and tells us basically nothing. It also kind of ruins Sephiroth's character in my opinion, in VII he's actually quite creepy and unhinged but I can't take him seriously in KH at all. It makes that subplot completely devoid of any narrative weight, it's literally just fanservice.

KH 3 D also had rematch portals with the various world bosses (aside from Ansem and Xemnas).
Rematch Spellican is no fuckin' joke.
I have a message from another time...Cloud will be in Kingdom Hearts 3 before FF 7 Remake
Mileena Madness
Buzz in the original movie seemed to have false memories of his time as a space ranger. It would be pretty creepy/ funny if the toys (with YMX's help) manage to convince Sora that he has always been a toy and that all his memories are just false backstory. Leading Sora to have his own "I Will Go Sailing No More" scene after he attempts to beat a foe over the head with his plastic keyblade, only to have his palstic arm broken off.
