My vintage ORIGINAL GREEN 3DS only has a 2GB SD card in it, so it's likely to not get homebrew'd.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I need an SD card for my New 2DS. Also still have to transfer my stuff to it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Ok so I'm trying to transfer things and now... let's see if I fuck this up horribly or not. I have a talent for screwing up simple instructions.
Uhh... Do I really have to format the new sd card? It's been long enough that I have forgotten what exactly I did the last time beyond transferring files.
Edit: Yes I did and I figured it out. I am not a tech savvy person, shocker.

I guess Nintendo didn't put a format function into the 3DS so you could just stick a new card into it and format it for use immediately...?
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Did some math and found out I would need to spend $466.46 to get all the games I want before the store closes down. And I'm probably missing some stuff on my list.
I used this Good Vibes Gaming video for reference and threw in a bunch of Virtual Console games.
I already own everything Fates related and Radiant Historia, and actually bought SMT IV yesterday (it was at a retro store). Could probably hedge my bets on some first party games (e.g. Dillon) and Virtual Console stuff to cut the costs down a bit. Though this doesn't take DLC or Themes into account or whatever I need to get on Wii U.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I think my list worked out to be around 150, with most of them being Virtual Console titles.
Plus the Atlus titles, but that mostly depends on if Europe/AU gets another sale before the closure.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI’m genuinely kinda mad about the death of the English versions of Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Those are great Ace Attorney games, just... gone, unless you want to play the (admittedly pretty good) mobile ports.
“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”NIS America is having a 3DS sale in Europe for a week.
I'll be grabbing Stella Glow and maybe Devil Survivor 2.
It's a shame this doesn't include SMT IV though.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobFrom digitally installing my carts into my homebrew 3DS, I can say the following: Sonic Generations takes about 800mb, as does Samus Returns, Ocarina 3D, and Link Between Worlds. Stella Glow takes about 1.4 gb, Minecraft takes about 400mb, the real chonkers are the Pokemon titles that take 1.8 for Alpha Sapphire to a whopping 4.2gb for Ultra Moon.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I got Resident Evil Revelations since it was like... two dollars. I tried the demo and didn't last long, but it was kind of fun. Never played an RE game before.
Revelations is excellent. That was my introduction to the series as well.
T He game wants to know if I want to use the circle pad pro. Which seems like it's kind of expensive to get right now, since it's all second hand. (I said no, this is the only time I've ever been asked about that add-on.)
Can't you use the C stick on a New model instead? I presume that would work.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?A quick google says yes it works, but suggested changing the sensitivity to be higher than the default.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobYeah I just used the C stick. Because it's right there and I don't feel like buying a peripheral that only one game has asked me about so far. Not sure how to change the sensitivity of the C-stick, but I'll look into it.
If you have a model with a C-stick, you don’t need the buy a Circle Pad Pro. I don’t even think you could use it if you did. The system probably wouldn’t fit.
Finally got around to upgrading the SD card. The system's internal clock got reset, but I also replaced the battery at the same time so that's probably why.
Currently going through the wish list I set up and am buying everything on it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Does replacing the battery do anything besides resetting the battery?
Man I kind of want to buy the Etrian Odyssey games but I didn't have a big enough SD card at the time so I skipped that sale. *sigh*
I wonder if they'll have anymore sales in the next year.
I'm pretty sure replacing the battery only screws with the internal clock. And that's easily fixed.
The eShop won't accept credit card payments after next week (outside of potential Loophole Abuse involving accounts linked to your Switch?), so don't count on any more sales.
Speaking of sales, I only started trying it buy the Ace Attorney games like 5 minutes after the sale for them ended. I only got one at a discount and the other two had to be purchased at full price.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Well, we have until next year with the loopholes, so I think I'm going to pace myself on the spending. I really, really should not have downloaded the badge arcade, holy shit.
I really wish the daily selection was less randomized. There's a shitton of badges and I mostly wants ones from a single game. Also, more daily free plays would be nice.
I hope they put out an update to alleviate the ridiculous grind, because I only just started using it last night.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Sadly, I doubt that.
I think they actually somewhat nerfed it.
I'm pretty sure previously it took 2-3 days for a machine to change/reset.
So you could much more easily get the harder badges under the others. Now they all have 1 day expire times, so only 2 attempts unless you buy more.
It's a shame there haven't been any more sales. I did grab Stella Glow & Devil Survivor 2 on sale, but no broader Atlus one for Europe. Unless they do another I think I'll probably skip buying SMT IV like I wanted to.
I was also hoping eshop cards would have the 10% off sale they have here every few months, but nothing since December last year. And with sales probably increasing a bit once the credit card option goes away, I doubt stores will be too inclined to do another.
I'd better start picking up some Virtual Console games now that the first closure step is imminent.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI mentioned this before, but you can probably hedge your bets on Virtual Console stuff if it's first-party. Very likely that Nintendo will drop it on Switch eventually. Some of the third-party VC games (e.g. Castevania) are also already on Switch.

Well I just opened up my 3ds to check what was in there and discovered I was only using a 16 GB card. Guess I'll be getting a 32 gb tomorrow and buying what few digital games there are that I want. (16 gb wouldn't be a problem if one of the ones I want wasn't Dragon Quest 8.)
