BO Bs are the hapless crew members you find running around and getting killed (alternatingly by the Pfhor and by you).

P.S.: You deal extra damage with punches if you strike while moving.

Your fist has to be midpunch as you move into your opponent. You want to walk your fist into your foe. It's quite handy on the weaker foes.

...punch? Why would I punch when I have a fucking machine gun?

On that note

I don't play video games for laughter, I play them because... I get really involved. Really first-person. Did you not see my post with its broken grammar?

If I were fighting my way through hordes of hostile aliens with minimal help and one or more slightly unhinged AIs on my case at all times, I'd want to at least try to find some way to extract fun out of the situation. But, hey, YMMV.

So I've opened the the Aleph One .zip with Win R Ar, now how do I extract it, because I can't create the folder?

Huhwhat?

Okay, let me put some instructions for you.

  1. Get Aleph One.
  2. Get the games you want.
  3. Extract both.
  4. Copy the .exe in Aleph One into the scenario's folder.
  5. Run it.

But I can't figure out how to extract Aleph One. It won't create the folder.

What the heck are you talking about? Just extract the .zip like you would for anything.

Here's a thought - do not extract it to system32. Why would you do that. Put it in Program Files or something.

Well I'm not one to go around putting things in places on my comp without instructions.

...?!

System32 is an OS folder. It's like if you were building a house and you decided to put a wall through the boiler.

I'm not really familiar with how WinRAR works, but you should change the destination folder to C:/Program Files/Marathon or something like that.

Minor derail: Speaking as a longtime Mac user, I can't help but be astonished at how strange program installation is on most OSs. On a Mac, you put the program absolutely anywhere you want to (and if it has any support files, which many of them don't, you just put the program and its support files in the same folder,) you can move this single file or folder around whenever you like, double-click on the actual program itself to run it, and maaaaybe drop an alias shortcut into the dock under OSuX.

On other OSs, you apparently open an installer, it drops the program and its support files somewhere (usually somewhere hardcoded) and then it adds zillions of shortcuts to it all over the place (on your desktop, in the start menu, in your taskbar…), and normal users are expected to never even SEE the actual program. So strange.

Strange for me too, which is part of why I like Marathon. Although it's more secure to have all programs have to be in the same place... not that anybody besides people like Korgmeister does that.

Well that's what the default destination was and I'd never heard of system32. And screwing with destinations has fethed up installations before.

Well just, in the future, don't mess with it. Can you extract it somewhere else successfully, then?

You could use the arrow keys. Worked for me until Anemotaxis alerted me to the possibility of mouselook. ;)

Oh, and the system32 thing was WinRAR's default, not Marathon's. Just saying.
