I just finished telling you that it did more than bring out the assholes. That is how I found my guild. That is how I found people worth chatting with. That is how I made friends in the game. That is how I finally got to learn how to actually play the game. It did not make things worse, it made them better.

Well, if you think there are only some people worth chatting with, then your standards seem to be set, and no amount of "smidgen" up in difficulty is going to bring the majority of people to that level. Blizzard's methodology is far more inclusive than to restraint access and success in dungeons to only population willing, and capable, of performing certain amount of teamwork.

Basic content being difficult does not encourage approaches.

No it's not. Blizzard's current methodology doesn't include shit. The people who want to play together have nothing at low levels, and the people who don't want to play together get smacked in the face with a completely different game once they reach endgame.

Speak for yourself.

My father, 50+ years old with little experience in videogames, had a particularly difficult hard time trying to get used to the controls. He was always a clicker. Yet he cherished the thought of being a healer, and being useful, despite the difficulties that came for him with his inexperience.

He spoke highly of his guild, always commenting on the idiotic dramas developing within, and it is what kapt him going and desiring to keep leveling, keep learning, despite not caring or understanding much of the lore of the game, simply focusing on mechanics and always trying to look for new ways to be useful.

He, however, despised Pv P, finding it too fast paced for his liking and as such, simply avoided it. So, new people, even to those in gaming, can easily meld into the gameplay aspects of dungeons. You simply have no one to entertain you while you do the same actions again and again and again, to try and evoke a different sense of utility other than the "topping the meters" idea.

Ghostcrawler himself said it. The game caters so that people can easily join it. Partially why he was so frustrated.

Blizzard could have easily made WoW super difficult so that only the most dedicated players would be able to clear all the content. It would have a lot fewer players if it had taken that route. Do the math.

I'm done. The only way someone can be so dense and miss so much of what I'm actually saying is if they're trying for it.

If you want hard you can get hard in Challenge modes, Mythic Raiding, leveling characters nude and soloing dungeons.

Challenge modes are stupid hard, all I ever got was Silver in them...

I can't do challenge modes. I can't do mythic raiding. I play a support class and playing nude would just make me useless on top of unneeded. Soloing dungeons is the exact opposite experience of what I want in the first place.

Why can't you Challenge mode? I mean it does not require any super commnitment to get at least silvers in all of them.

because he is not max level as he has said multiple times and thinks that that content (available leveling one) is ignorable and worthless and not fun simply out of not being designed at these instances of the game, to be challenging for levelers.

CDRW, you just have very specific demands. You immerse yourself in one aspect of the game and want that aspect to work a specific way. But most people do not want it the way you want it. Most people want an easy smooth sailing, not a challenge out of their levelling. WOW not condoning to your personal preference is not "something that needs to be fixed".

You have also ignored the brought up PVP - it's a team effort and it's competing against an equal team rather than undertuned dungeons, which sounds like what you want. Why haven't you tried it? It gives you XP too.

How come only Mistweaver Monks get to have Legacy of the Emperor now?

Cause Legacy of the White Tiger does the same thing.

Not sure why Brewmasters and Windwalkers get it so late though...

I got my first 150 for collecting all the candy buckets in Pandaria, Northrend, and Outland, plus the daily kill of the Horseman. The Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor buckets should get me close to the other 150, with the daily quests to fill in.

I know it's not something new, but soloing AQ 40 is a lot more profitable now that you can blaze through it ridiculously fast.

Well, except for Viscidus.

Screw that guy.

I'd point out some blizzard devs did go off and make a World Of Warcraft-style game with hardcore as hell difficulty curves.

Its called Wildstar.

Its floundering like a Magikarp due to a huge amount of unbalanced systems, zero content for casuals, and the entry to raids being so arduous most raiders dont bother..

I was focusing today on some old meta achievements, like Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25), Glory of the Cataclysm Raider, and so forth. I had a few achievements left to go that I had never managed to pick up. I found out a few things:

  • Hodir can still kill you if you get flash frozen, because the stun debuff lasts 5 minutes. Oops.
  • Yogg-Saron cannot be soloed if you don't have a pet to kill the Constrictor Tentacles.
  • BWD 10-man Heroic is disgustingly easy, except for Nefarian if you also try to do his other achievement at the same time. Those constructs just destroy me. So I did that one and will come back next week for heroic Nef.
  • Conclave of Winds is another fight that it's easiest to two-man to get the achievement, because of the tricky timing involved.

Also, old raid and dungeon content seems to die 3-4 times faster now than it did pre-squish.

Don't forget Razorgore. Killing him before the eggs will still one-shot you, which ironically makes his 1-shot stronger than the Lich King's 1-shot move.

Mimiron's missiles used to do 5 million before the squish; I'm not sure what they do now, but I didn't want to get hit by it.

Profitable? Didn't they nerf to the ground all gold drops from old raids some time ago? What's the money in?
