Leveling should be entertaining, in as much as all parts of the game should be entertaining. If you want to get new players into WoW, you have to give them an opportunity to have fun up front because otherwise they'll never reach max level to do all the endgame content.

Oh wow. Time to solo fucking everything. "YES! I AM A GOD" indeed. Finally started the Fangs of the Father line, waiting twelve hours for the next step.

Any idea what the old vehicle-dependent fights might be like? I don't remember if they ever really scaled well.

If they are new players, then getting acquainted with the class, lore and world is the offer there is during leveling.

If you do not like doing quests, exploring and witnessing the world, doing dungeons, reading quests, or suffering more than 10 minutes for a couple of levels, then, yes, you will find leveling excruciatingly droll. Unless you manage to like. Level up by playing tetris, or random, different mini games.

[up][up] Vehicle fights are very easy because their health and damage scales with your item level. Assuming that Blizzard got the tuning right, of course.

I heard that gunship was kinda bugged at the moment because while your damage scaled, your ship didnt so it got easilly wrecked.

Dunno if that changed but other than that, vehicle fightsl ike Ulduar have scaled from level for ages ago.

I yet remember the times when the auto-LFG was introduced and the wipes from dumbasses not doing their jobs.

Everything being easy and being challenged on your skills are both fun, they're just different kind of fun.

Thanks. I am not a programmer anyways, just a videogamer. And I already have a career in a non-gaming company. (Plus, I honestly don't think I could work for Blizzard. The temptation to punch Metzen in the face would be too much).

Looks like you are having loads of fun with the current dev team though, so. You can keep ignoring that exploring, reading, and interacting with the world beyond the mere aspect of repetitive-by-design gameplay and counting lore, visual, and auditive input as not fun.

Addendum: As an honest suggestion though, do you have a guild? Having people to chat by on the game, about the game and of other stuff can make time and repetition far more amenable. Making friends and such there. The social thing is big on Warcraft. Having no one to talk to is boring.

So...you hate the lore, the gameplay, the visuals, the music, and the art?

What do you like?

WoW has content for everyone. Questing (especially after the Cataclysm revamp), dungeons, crafting, PvP, the various social aspects, raiding, lore, visuals, etc. If each player gets something they want from the game, then Blizzard has done its job.

Precisely my point. But apparently one specific thing not being enjoyable makes the whole game not fun? The leveling aspect is so short as to be completely irrelevant and there's Pv P, Quests, and Dungeons to level by at a decent speed. If they are all so intolerable then I seriously must ask "Then what makes you happy?", cuz' PvE, Questing and Pv P are staples of this MMO (and any, really), and what you will be doing most all of the time...

Each individual aspect should be fun in its own right, but not everyone finds the same things fun. To one player, leveling is an excruciating bore and they don't give a damn about the lore or the flavor. To another player, every quest is an opportunity to immerse themselves in the story, and some of the cornier and/or fourth-wall breaking quests are an outrage.

I am aware. Which is why when someone is blatantly describing things as not fun, then I would encourage to try, and point out at other things they might find actually fun.

I like being part of a group. I like being useful to that group. And at this level, that means running dungeons. You can't say that this is a social game and you have fun through social play, then turn around and say that it doesn't matter if the most social part of the game that I have access to isn't fun.

Yes, I have a guild. How did I find that guild in the first place? By running dungeons. When things got hard with the patch, I found out who was fun to play with, and they had fun playing with me so they invited me. People don't talk in random groups when the dungeons are easy. Sure, I can run with guild-mates, when they're on, and when they feel like playing their low-level characters, and when their low-level characters just happen to be in the same level range as mine. Guess how often that happens? Guess how often guilds organize low-level dungeon runs? Sure, I can have them run me through dungeons, but that's not playing the content, that's bypassing the content. And it is boring.

I am playing all this content for the first time, and it is a God-damned chore. AND LEVELING IS NOT SHORT FOR A NEW PLAYER. That shit takes weeks.

Are you ignoring then, Pv P, the fictional faction lore tries to immerse you into, and how fast you level via dungeon queing (specially if you are a tank)?

It honestly just seems like you want people to talk with, rather than actual content.

Yeah you edited your previous post to add that, so I had to edit mine.

And honestly. Find a more populated guild. You just seem to want people to talk to. You won't find anyone who talks about anything from levels 1 to 90 in dungeons or LF Rs. People just pull. In PUG normals it is the same, specially now that the content is so easy. You will only find that in guilds, and not just any guild, but a guild with people, not one of those with like 3-4 active people tops.

The only level of discussed strategy you have to make is found in organized groups for Pv P, and PvE, even challenge dungeons need planning and ventrilo. And anyways, "challenge" does not necesarily mean "dialogue". It means hearing on party chat constant remarks of "Fucking healer is useless" and "SHIT TANK", which I doubt is hardly a superior experience to a quiet but effective run.

So you want Blizzard to make it so that people are not assholes on difficult content with random strangers?

No, I want Blizzard to make dungeons into actual content instead of level-fodder, like they were just after the patch. It was accidental and broken, but it was still better than what it is now. There will always be assholes in random groups, but a smidge of difficulty makes things interesting again and brings out the people who are willing and able to play along with others.

Yeah, no. It will just bring the assholes. This is why guilds exist. Because random people cannot do content together if they do not know each other without being at each other's throats.

Join a guild. Meet people. Make friends. Level in peace while having a chat with them. You can't make everyone "good" and amicable. Neither can Blizzard.
