Saw a great theory that Luffy will counteract the rising tides by using Gear 5 to bring back Water Luffy.
My bet is on Luffy draining the water by pulling a giant drain plug left behind on Laugh Tale by Joyboy.

Thanks for the citation, I completely forgot about that.

Do you think the live action One Piece will include the Kung Fu Dugongs and Vivi explaining that the sea is encroaching on the river? Its the kind of thing that could've been skipped over without any second thought, but now...
I guess they don't really need it, though. They'll still have Water 7 (if they get that far) slowly being swallowed by the sea. Still, the show does enjoy adding foreshadowing that originally wasn't clear.
Hard to say.
But there is one thing that I feel the Haki discourse kind of glossed over, regarding Blackbeard's Devil Fruit: Blackbeard seemingly going out of his way to avoid awakening any kind of Haki at all, in order to climb to the top. He feels like the kind of character who would break even the rule of needing Haki, in order to get to the top.
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I kind of love that about him. He has Haki, but he and his crew are so focused on Devil Fruits. He clearly knows some things most people don't, I don't think that's all down to having the Dark-Dark Fruit either.
Speaking of which, to the Armament Haki discussion: Blackbeard's statement of wondering if Ace remembers who it feels to be hit IS weird, and definitely points to Oda at the very least not having Haki entirely ironed out yet. But even if he had, its important to remember what Blackbeard does is completely different from what Haki or even sea water/sea prism does. Its literally as if you don't have a Devil Fruit when Blackbeard touches you. I'd hate to see what would happen if he got his hand on Brook.

I think the LA will probably keep at least a mention of the sea entering the Sandora. That was what made Alabasta increasingly reliant on rainwater and so was a factor in Crocodiles plan.
…This is making the assumption that Blackbeard actually has Haki, however… because I don't think in all my time of reading this story, that I have ever explicitly seen him use Haki.
Does Blackbeard have Haki to his name? I'm willing to make the bet that he doesn't.

Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I'll collect that bet then.
…I'll admit, I missed that one.
…So he does have Haki… that… changes things… man, that is just… not good.
Adding An Edit Here: ...So, upon having time to stew that over, okay, so, Blackbeard is capable of using Haki, which in retrospect, makes sense, no way he'd be this far in his journey without it... but it is telling that using Haki isn't... automatic with him. It's kind of one of those factors that he just so happens to have, but is willing to smoothly roll with the Devil Fruit game otherwise. He's an inherently weird character.

Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I could see Blackbeard and Mihawk not having King Haki. Blackbeard's enough of a coward that he might not be worthy of it, and Mihawk doesn't have a conquering spirit. It'd be cool if they were strong enough to hang with the other Emperors despite not having that ability, which seems to be a major part of Shanks's fighting style.
By the way, you can actually see the Giant Pirate's ship on the far left side of Egghead in the wide shot at the end of this chapter.
I wonder how young we'll get to learn about Dragon whenever we finally do? We got to see Kuma and Iva as little kids. I wonder if we'll see Dragon that young as well. I wonder if Garp had the same heavy-handed training approach with him that he did with Luffy?
They probably will show at least some of his childhood and his time with the Marines, alongside whatever made him defect.
And Garp had his reasons to push Luffy and Ace as hard as he did.

Wake me up at your own risk. That reminds me, I used TO LOATHE Garp because the moron left Ace and Luffy's care to mountain bandits and pirates and was STILL surprised they became outlaws and pirates. I think Toei in a BIG rare moment made a joke about it, like the mountain pirates being puzzled about this parenting plan that had Zero holes to it!
The italiced words are sarcasm.
I started to like him because his laidback nature and hot grandpa vibes got to me.

I know that and I knew even when I hated him. He was just TOO STUPID. I couldnt believe how someone could be that stupid.

You are not getting me, Luffy is charmingly stupid but Garp... you know what I am going to drop this. I like Garp now so there is even less point to this.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Apparently, coming from Il Re's read in streaming of the latest chapter, there's been a wave of memes in Italy with multiple characters (specifically, King Neptune, Gan Fall, Enel, Iceburg, Momonosuke, Kureha and Carrot) reacting to Vegapunk's revelation with "ESTICAZZI?" (translation: who fucking cares?)

People keep saying Croc not having Haki doesnt make sense considering Croc came from the New World and is a Warlord, but it makes sense to me. Croc was an upstart who used his devil fruit than Haki, got his shit pushed in, then fled to Paradise to a place where his Devil Fruit powers are basically at their maximum potential than train. Crocodile could recognizable foster stronger powers, but Crocodile would rather sit on planning a takeover than fill what the WG thinks he could become when they gave him the Warlord title.

Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Note Crocodile planned to use Pluton as his muscle instead of building up his own personal powers.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMoria was a big deal in the New World before losing to Kaido and becoming a Warlord. Crocodile was never a big deal on his own, he needed the Warlord position before challenging Whitebeard.
Kaido-fight Moria was probably around the level of Kaido's All Stars. Whitebeard-fight Crocodile was probably exactly as strong as he was in Alabasta.
Anyway, just saw a shitpost that made me come up with a theory. "Joy Boy" as a nickname sounds like it might come from sex slavery. Joy Boy was a sex slave before he broke out and started freeing other slaves as Nika, similar to Fisher Tiger.

This is why I cited Shanks and Whitebeard as the first unambiguous mention and demonstration, both.
In the manga, Luffy recalls Rayleigh's use of Conqueror's in the auction house.
SBS stuff is as canon as anything else, barring the story itself contradicting it (or it obviously bring a joke). CP9's birthdays were suggested in an SBS, not that's no reason to assume they aren't CP9's birthdays.
