So now that there are airbenders again can we finally have the Avatar version of Earth Wind and Fire?

i can imagine a pro bending team naming themselves that.

wait, now that we got a whole ton of airbenders now, does that mean that pro bending teams can have four members?

I don't think are there enough for every team to reasonably have them. Maybe in a hundred years or so. I'm kind of curious how they'd balance it.

And I imagine there'll have to be significant alterations to pro-bending if it were to include airbenders since that would add a whole other dimension to consider. Pro-bending is mostly a two-dimensional, ground level game.

Airbending would have to be heavily regulated to keep it from being a Game-Breaker. And even if you force airbenders not to ride around on air scooters and limit air blasts to a certain strength or time, you're still dealing with a mostly invisible force that specialises in knocking dudes backwards. I think airbending would end up getting their own sports without integrating into pro bending.

Aw man, the Korra video game should really have been an interquel set between Books 3 and 4, not Book 2 and 3. :/

I don't think Korra is going to be doing much fighting between book 3 and 4.

@Probending: If you limit airbenders to just blocking shots and redirecting projectiles, you don't have to worry about not being able to see their attacks. The game would definitely need revision though, like making the field wider, and maybe adding a ceiling to limit high jumps.

True, but I find the Red Lotus to be more interesting than the Equalists, so far, so I honestly wish Korra was dealing with them in the video game.

At least we would have avoided the Bag of Spilling. Korra would learn new wheelchair techniques along with the progress of the plot. From just bumping into people to wheelchair backflips.

Or you can have her try to do non-gestural bending—oven even just bending with more limited gestures—from her chair until she's the bender version of Professor X.

she could learn to earthbend with her face, like King Bumi.

That's part of what I meant with "non-gestural," yeah. Except expanded to include all the elements.

As Korra will likely be dealing with them in Book 4, I'm not sure they would be able to set a video game around the Red Lotus at this time without spoiling a lot of unanswered questions about the organization that Book 4 is likely planning to delve into.

The Equalists have the benefit of no longer being a mystery, so they can be explored without giving ruining the intrigue.
