I would say it's worse?
I really didn't get what was going on in there and not just in terms of character motivation.
I mean, Kat and Dante show up but they are not really them, but Vergil treat them like they are?
Vergil's kinda not right in the head at this point.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987So, nothing about my post about characterization? :B
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryAt this point, saying that the characters are flat and one-dimensional is beating a dead horse.
I guess?
Even so, the felt the story felt a little too crawling in my skin for my taste.

Donate money to Skullgirls, get a sweet poster.I at least the dialogue and voice acting were a step up. It's a bit sad that they'd blatantly rip-off Bleach though.
Nothing I can say at the moment other than that you hit the nail on the head.

Time to leave them all behindMy point was not that the characters were flat and one-dimensional, my point was that they didn't work characterization into the exposition.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryHey guys, you wanna hear three guys who admit to never playing the original games agree with each other over how good this failure of a reboot is?
I...fail to understand what is wrong with liking the game. So what if they didn't play the original games? If they enjoyed it, they enjoyed it.
I mean, unless there's any specific baseless judgement you'd like to point out in that video.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiActually, I'd say the fact that these individuals never liked the originals but dug the reboot means this new game did it's job.
The game did not do hot financially because the genre is apparently pretty niche, and when you A) Alienate your fanbase that IS dedicated and B) fail to attract a new audience, what do you get?
The problem I have with the video is not that they like it (they are free to like what they want), it's that they still claim that the reboot is better and then admit that they didn't play the original games. So Sessler saying that Original Vergil was a forgettable character when he has never even played DMC 3 is a bit weird to hear.
Oh that was SPOILED GAMES! Sorry I just assumed you were talking about some other lets player on youtube and didn't open the link.
I think the video is a bit more critical of Dm C than I was expecting. Not that I agree with everything, like their comparisons to the old games.
What said. But is it possible for them to say things like "Vergil was boring in DMC 3" if all they did was read up plot summaries or watch cutscenes on Youtube?

If they watched the cutscenes then maybe, but fighting him as a boss as well would be better.
They can say whatever they want, but it wont make them not look like uninformed tools.
Are you gonna start that again?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Start what?
I think its pretty basic to not talk shit about something and act like an expert if all you did was watch cutscenes or whatever.
I suppose that it's sort of valid if you watch it... But it is a bit ironic that the first thing a lot of DmC defenders said was that you couldn't judge the reboot without playing the full game. When people who had watched a livestream/cutscenes/played the demo came up with complaints they were basically dismissed for not having played the game from start to finish. So the same should apply here I think.
The thing is that Vergil isn't a forgettable character in DMC 3 just form what he does in the cutscenes.
Classic Vergil clearly didnt talk enough about how he had a bigger dick and liked to murder pregnant demon whores.
Seriously Sessler, you get butthurt over the "bro's before hoe's" trophy in God of War Ascension but nothing about that at all in your review?
Because Vergil is a character in a game and trophies are outside of the game.
And yet he listed it as a negative in the wrap-up, it apparently dragged the experience that down for him.
Didn't he say the writing in Dm C was puerile in his review?
At least it's better than the main story?
