Man...Going back through Ryuji's confidant a second time..with some of his text, they could have easily made him be a romanceable character.
Damn you, Atlus.
Old habits die hard, especially when no one else lets them die either. You could the same thing about Yusuke.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I think Ryuji and Ann were written to be just the nicest people around to underline how far they are from their popular perceptions as a delinquent and a slut.
Heart of StoneI know. And that makes it even worse. T_T
Old habits die hard, especially when no one else lets them die either.Who, Ryuji and Ann or Ryuji and Joker?
Heart of StoneRyuji and Ann.
Watch SymphogearI think the two have good enough chemistry.
Rather sad we didn't get a case like in Mass Effect 3 where if you don't romance either, Garrus & Tali get together at the end.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Boy do I love dissenting shipping opinions.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yeah, I was pretty disappointed that P5 handled romance basically exactly like P4 — that is, completely ignored it until the last rank or two of a social link, then gave you a single yes/no option, then changed like one thing afterwards depending on what you picked.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I'm not. It's okay fluff, and I never felt the social link romances needed to go beyond that.
I mean, I usually just end up skipping the romances. They don't really add much, honestly. But still, having like, at least one guy to choose from would be nice, for girl players or guys like me. But I digress. People would probably have a fit about it anyway.

Old habits die hard, especially when no one else lets them die either.I like them in P5. They're cute, and I feel like they are handled much better then P3 or P4 in terms of just adorableness, anyway.

Have there even been ten Persona games? Persona, Persona 2 (Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment), Persona 3 (original, FES, Portable), Persona 4 (original, Golden), Arena (original, Ultimax), Dancing All Night, Persona Q, Persona 5.
That's 13 total, even counting the numerous re-releases/ports, questionable spinoffs, and older ones before the series really hit on its current formula. So a top-ten list has to leave out... three of them.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. You're forgetting both P4 anime, the P3 movies, and the Trinity Soul anime so there's definitely more than 13 openings to choose from.

Still seems rather silly, even by the low standards of top ten lists.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I mean you could watch the video for yourself. The dude who posted it tends to make some pretty good analysis videos and his top ten/best of lists in particular tend to go into detail about why he places them where he did. This one is almost a half hour long but it's well worth watching.
Even I have to question a top 10 list for much of the same reasons Native pointed out. A top 5 would be more reasonable.
Maybe but the video itself is decent enough and I figured it'd be of some interest to you guys which is why I posted it here.
My main issue with the romance options is that they're just fluff like Melon said. They have no impact on how the characters treat each other outside of that specific social link, so it very feels pretty disconnected overall.
I don't think it should overtake the plot or anything, but considering this is a series about bonds and how they bring people together, you'd think a romantic route would get the same amount of focus as the standard friendship ones.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I like Mother's Basement so I'll get around to seeing his video.
As always there is room for improvements.
Shit's nice but yeah can it get better.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."This is still my favorite Persona opening of all time:

Fake Persona fan here. I'm 45+ hours into Persona 5 and I've been loving every minute of it. It's great, and probably has objectively the best menus ever.
I finished Haru's dad, and am just Confidant-boosting and Memento grinding at this point. Makoto, Ann, Yusuke are at 5, Mishima and Ryuji are 9, Togo is 4, Kawakami is 5, Sojiro is 4-5, Ohya is 5 (Her bonuses suck but some of those Devil Persona are alright), everyone else is too low to mention. I maxed out with Tae because why not. I hope getting Alice isn't much of a pain.
Next max confidants I'm eyeing are Ryuji, Mishima, and Sojiro. Man though, there are too many good stories in those Confidant ranks.
