Katie got some mileage out of the Falcon Punch herself. I very much doubt that she doesn't find Falcon humorous.

Except I seem to remember most of those bosses having ranged weapons too, doing like the double the damage of any of my characters, and higher-than-suggested accuracy. Bob the archer, 2 damage, 75% stated hit chance to hit, probably going to miss versus Bubba the Meatshield, 20 damage, 35% hit chance, will probably hit.
I remember playing elaborate games of rescuing people out of counter-attack range and desperately healing them so I don't lose somebody at the very end of a mission.

These days, Fire Emblem is better about giving stationary bosses ranged weapons (or just having them not be stationary), but the comic is riffing on Path of Radiance, which wasn't as good about that.
