If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

It's no longer safe to search for fanart because you have to scroll through pages of shipping rants to find one picture.

Today is day one of the Malaysian GST.

I've already run into one shopkeeper complaining that some GST affected items are now oddly priced, especially as 5 Sen coins are very rarely used.

Whoops.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot

I've technically been here since either 2 September 2013, or a day or so after that.

How I ended up being shipped with 25 other people (at the same time) I'll never know. surprised

When did centaurs get so heavily associated with forests? Like, horses typically live in plains, right? And the original mythological centaurs lived in the mountains. So where did the forest thing come from?

Some centaurs got lost in the woods one day and decided it was better then the barren old plains...

Edit. I have no idea but is a funny answer passable?

Edit:I think its to with how the myth of a centaur evolved since at first they were probably thought as barbarian, however numerous retellings led them to be wise creatures, capable of healing,it also explains how they came to be linked with arrows, since archers need wood for their arrows, and where else would you get wood but from a forest.

I think the link between centaurs and archery actually comes from Charon/Saggitarius.

EDIT: Wait, no, not Charon! Chiron! I can't believe I mixed them up! That's like Classical Myth 101! I am a failure!

Curses! My permanent record!

And y'know, I read Percy Jackson And The Olympians, too, and they had a whole bit about how similar the names are, so I really have no excuses.

Well yeah,Chiron/Saggitarius seemed to be the exception, but it seems later portrayal are based off those two (Harry potter and Narnia come to mind)

It is funny that Chiron, despite being an outlier among his kind (and is barely even technically a centaur), became the face of the entire species on whom most modern fictional accounts are based off of.

Isn't Chiron related to Zeus?

I mean, everyone is related to everyone in Greek myth, but yes. Zeus and Chiron have the same daddy, the titan Kronos. Different moms, though; I can't remember who Chiron's mom was, though. Might just have been a horse.

Speaking of nature, as I work on which extinct animals to populate Lemuria with, I seem to have more good luck with the mammals than the birds.

Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.
