Tenshinhan has fans? I've seen plenty of Krillin fans and the odd Yamcha fan, but not anything for Ten

I don't dislike him, but mostly he's kinda dull.
Which can have its own charm, sometimes, in small doses. Tien is a great straight man for some of the more ridiculous characters to play off of.
wow, really? Kuririn vs Tenshinhan is one of the biggest power debates because a large number of people could never accept the evidence that Kuririn is stronger.
Now, part of that are people who just aren't aware of the evidence or somehow don't understand that DB does not base power over who looks and acts toughest, but there has always been a subset of die hard Ten fans who won't ever let the debate die.
I only get annoyed when people do stuff like making his Tri-Beaming of Cell out to be more than what it was.
This song needs more love. What evidence was there for Krillin being stronger than Tien? Besides Toriyama straight up saying it outside of the show I mean. Word of god isn't going to fly with everyone.
On the flipside I get annoyed at people who try to super downplay it because they don't like Tien fans.

Yamcha straight up saying it. Kuririn getting a massive power up that Ten didn't.
There's not much, but there's also nothing in Ten's favour unless you start trying to find evidence to support the conclusion that he is.
I mean, it was a nice moment, and I liked it, how it built up stakes and tension and delayed the inevitable and stuff. Not just delayed, but. Sorta reversed. Temporarily.
Tien's finest hour in Z. Plot-wise.
...Not that Tien has much else because. Like, he barely has a character to me.
It's canon filler.
As someone who thinks the 22nd Tournament is one of the best arcs in the series, I like Tien. He's not the best character but he works.
And King Piccolo is the best arc in the series so again, Tien works well in my view. Yay filler.

I mean.
Like, what it did accomplish narrative and storytelling-wise is it gave a chance for Krillin, 18, Trunks and Vegeta to have great and defining character moments that they wouldn't have had if Cell had absorbed 18 right then and there.
18's concern for 16, Krillin's crush and sacrificing the world because of his dick/lack of willingness to murder in cold blood someone who was scared and hadn't really done anything/his dick (in that order), Vegeta's pride.
Filler's not a bad thing, man. It lets the story breathe.
He's pretty boring, and the 22nd is one of my least favourite arcs, but his character arc through that and the 23rd arc is my favourite thing about that arc. It's nice to see one of the reformed characters actually renounce their former ways.
I think he just stuck around for too long after it. As I'd said before, I think the best ending for his character is for him to stay in the afterlife with Chaozu, training eternally together.
I didn't say it was bad.

That's coz it's DB Tien. DB Tien was a character and had shit to do and some character growth.
DBZ Tien is filler for crowd scenes.
Just a shame he doesn't really have anything to do character-wise after that.

I love his character arc in the 22nd.

That could be said for quite a few characters in the DB era. It stems from Toriyama not writing out certain characters when they weren't really needed any more (or not having longer arcs for them to justify them sticking around).
His fights in the 22nd and 23rd tourneys were good, his last stand against Nappa...looked cooler than it was (and I can admit that) and his stunt against Cell was one of the few moments where someone didn't somehow make the situation worse through their actions even if it was irrelevant in the end.
Tien's a cool guy...who probably should have just left the series at some point.
One Strip! One Strip!Having them stick around isn't necessarily a problem either, it's stuff like continuing to use them in roles that lose meaning (like having Yamcha continue to job when it's no longer impressive for a villain to beat him up).
But Ten is definitely a character who works better going off on his own since he's not particularly friendly and says as such in the manga.
Tien's never ithe crowd scenes...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Which can have its own charm, sometimes, in small doses.
I mean:
He's not a deep character but neither are the people not lucky enough to be Vegeta, Piccolo, or Gohan.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I mean, I would argue that Vegeta isn't that deep. He's bad until he's not anymore. It's more than most get, but it's nothing special.

This song needs more love.I'd say he's up there with Piccolo and Gohan. At least he's higher than Goku.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yes. This is what I was trying to say, but you put it in better words. Thank you Saiga.
It might have been better for him to go off and restart the Crane School far earlier than he did to be frank. It suits him.
One Strip! One Strip! It took over 30 years for him to have his own school...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. It's never actually stated when he established the school. For all we know, he did it immediately after the Buu Saga and was just running it off-screen all this time.
20+ years...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.
No, they don't.
